Product Description:
Expert makeup artistry demands the best brushes. Made with natural bristles, Dolce and Gabbana Powder Brush glides against the skin to provide an even distribution of product. Ideal for bronzer and powder application. Recommended for the woman seeking a flawless, professional makeup finish. Made of AAA goat hair bristles.

My Experience with Dolce and Gabbana Powder Brush:

The bristles of this brush have been kept long and moderately packed together in a dome-shaped brush. The handle is also kept long to provide comfortable grip and smooth application. This luxurious brush comes in a thin, transparent plastic, which is then packed in a black-coloured cardboard box. It can be labeled as travel friendly if you carry it in the box provided or in a pouch.

Having used Dolce and Gabbana Blush Brush, I was all game to pick up the Dolce and Gabbana Powder Brush. Previously, I had a good, low-budget powder brush, which I ruined by washing under running tap water. It is not completely damaged but then the grip has become a bit loose. So, this was a good excuse to invest in a new powder brush and I picked this brush from the high-end brand, D&G, and it comes with all-natural bristles.

Dolce and Gabbana Powder Brush bristles

This Dolce and Gabbana powder brush looks and feels luxurious to hold. The bristles and handle both have been kept long to provide easy grip and smooth application. I use it for applying my Clinique Beyond Perfecting Powder Foundation and Compact and Kanebo Sensai Silky Bronze Compact Powder.

Dolce and Gabbana Powder Brush handle

I swipe the brush across my compact and apply it all over my face with a light hand. It enables smooth and even application, and imparts sheer coverage; however, I am not able to obtain medium to full coverage using this brush since it does not blend or even out the powder formula or buff it into my skin the way it should. Also, when I use it with loose powder, for instance, Jane Iredale Amazing Base or Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Powder Foundation, it does not impart the desired results (of air-brushed effect or a flawless finish).

It tends to pick up excess loose powder and when I try to blend, it does not even out the product or buff the loose powder into the skin as it should have. I have to then use a powder sponge to buff or even out the excess loose powder. However, now I use this brush for applying pressed powder formulas, that too with a light hand, which gives sheer coverage. Also, it comes very handy to apply loose powder all over my neck and throat area where the amount of powder picked gets distributed evenly and easily.

This brush is made of all-natural goat hair, the bristles are soft and smooth. The bristles do not irritate or hurt my sensitive skin. I have washed this brush quite often, since it tends to hold on to the product and gets soiled very quickly. For this purpose, I use Clinique Makeup Brush Cleanser. I spray it directly all over the bristles and then smoothly wipe off the residue with a dry or wet tissue as required. The brush tends to shed a few bristles here and there, however, it retains its shape, size, original color after drying. I am not completely happy with this brush since I had high expectations and I was sure this would definitely enable me to apply and blend powder formulas on my face like a professional.

  • Enables easy and smooth application.
  • Retains original shape, size and colour even after cleansing.

Cons of Dolce and Gabbana Powder Brush:

  • Expensive.

  • Tends to shed a few bristles here and there.
  • Does not help in achieving air-brushed, flawless finish.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Dolce and Gabbana Powder Brush?
Yes, if you want a high-end brush with all natural soft bristles for applying pressed or loose powder formulas for a sheer or light coverage, then you can opt for this brush. However, I will not buy this brush again. Dolce and Gabbana is one of my favourite brands and one bad experience will definitely not refrain me from buying other products from D&G.
