My Experience with Dolce Gabbana Lip Liner in Fire :
I don’t have a lot of makeup from Dolce Gabbana but all that I have is top quality. So this time around I picked up some more products from the brand. I picked up this lip liner in Fire #5 especially for the gorgeous coral orange color that it is. It’s so stunning that I rarely ever wear a lipstick with this lip pencil because in my books, it is a dream orange lip color – neither too blue, nor too yellow, and neither too neon nor too soft. I always like to wear the shade just as is. And on a dry lips day I just pop some lip balm on top to keep the color intact. I feel it is a very universally flattering color. Also the color is such that you can use it underneath both red and orange lipsticks.

The packaging is a gorgeous golden sharpenable pencil. One end is a pencil and one end is a lip brush. It sharpens perfectly with any cosmetic sharpener and my pencil is almost come to a half now and the tip is never broken – neither while sharpening nor while application. It sharpens to a fine tip and you can really go a very precise application.

Although I’d like to add that not having its own sharpener for a price tag such as this is quite a bummer. I haven’t come across a lip pencils from other luxury brands without a sharpener.
The pencil glides on easily without any tugging. It is just the right amount of creamy without being too creamy or too dry. There is no weird smell or taste to it. The staying power is incredible. It stays on for good 5-6 hours on me. But I’d say that since it is matte, it could be a bit drying if worn on its own. It has a perfect liner like texture to give a good base and a staying power to a lipstick. It makes for a comfortable wear.

If you ask me if there is anything special about this lip pencil.I’d say no except may be the color. I am already halfway through the lip pencil I love it so much. If not for this gorgeous color, I feel you can pretty much pick up lip liners at much lesser price. I feel these lip liners a great addition to Dolce & Gabbana’s makeup line as a whole. But if you are looking specifically to buy a lip liner from a brand you could totally give this a skip and could pick other products from the brand.
Love it for the color and overall a very good lip pencil. 🙂
