I am so in love with Dove DermaSpa products that I had to buy all the products. Few days back, I picked up this new hand cream and just can’t get over it. The new range is called Youthful Vitality. The Youthful Vitality has three rejuvenating formats to offer: Youthful Vitality Body Lotion, Youthful Vitality Body Cream and Youthful Vitality Hand Treatment. I shall be reviewing the hand cream first.

My Experience with Dove DermaSpa Youthful Vitality Hand Treatment:
Packaging: I love the way it looks and feels from the outside. It comes in a tube packaging. The tube is plastic with a satin finish to it. The tube looks like a spa product giving it an expensive look. The tube is mostly white with a light purple cap. Few of the letters are also gold in color. Packaging looks luxurious like that of expensive brands.
The tube has a screw lid which has to be twisted for opening and closing. Not many twists to close and open, but just one twist is sufficient. I still would have preferred the flap lid to the screw lid. The screw lid makes it very safe to travel with especially in handbag for everyday use. The tube is not very big but thin and long. It fits easily in a handbag and doesn’t take too much of space.
Consistency: The hand cream is white in color with creamy consistency. It’s a little on the thicker side when compared to many other hand creams. It feels more concentrated. The hand cream is very easy to spread over the hand and palm and it gets absorbed within seconds. A very little amount is sufficient for my dry hands.
Fragrance: The fragrance is very mild. I can assure you that most of you will love the way it smells. The lotion has raspberry and mandarin fragrances combined with roses, geranium and carnation, with a soft scent of macadamia combined with vanilla and sandalwood. But the main note is that of raspberry and mandarin. The fragrance also lasts for quite some time. I was surprised with the staying power. For sure, the fragrance is mild but it lasts for long.
Feel: The hand cream leaves my hands soft. This hand cream is targeted for aging skin. It gets absorbed so quickly and leaves no trace of oil. Normally with hand creams, you get oily residue which makes the palm little slippery and the skin looks little glossy. I like the glossy effect of creams but not the slippery palm. With this product, there is no gloss or shine what so ever. The skin looks completely matt. I would have preferred a little bit of dewy effect especially when you are going out. The product did not cause any kind of irritation or redness. It’s suitable for sensitive skin.
Overall it’s a drugstore product but the looks and results are that of a spa product. The pricing is little high when compared to other drugstore hand creams. But it’s totally worth the price. I cannot recommend it enough. It makes a perfect gift for someone you care.

• Little expensive when compared to drugstore hand creams (more expensive than other Dove DermaSpa hand creams).
