Dove Gentle Exfoliating Beauty Body Wash Review

Dove Gentle Exfoliating Beauty Body Wash Review

Hi Everyone!!!

Today, I am going to review my first body wash from Dove. Because of the changing weather, I have been facing the problem of dry skin, so I got a body wash from Dove because it claims to have moisturising milk and I have always found products from Dove to be extremely creamy and moisturising, you know Dove soaps and shampoos. Moreover, it claims to have exfoliating beads in it, so I just couldn’t resist buying it.

Dove Gentle Exfoliating Beauty Body Wash Review

Now, let’s come on to the review:

Product Description:

It’s the exfoliation that makes skin glow. Ultra-fine exfoliating beads clear away the old, dull looking skin while the ¼ moisturising milk nurtures the new, radiant skin.  The result: skin that’s soft and smooth.

My Take on Dove Gentle Exfoliating Beauty Body Wash:

This body wash comes in a white, sturdy bottle with a white and blue, sturdy, flip-flop cap. I haven’t experienced any spillage of the product, no matter how much upside down I turn it. 😛 Now, coming to the body wash, it is white in color with cute little blue exfoliating beads. The body wash looks creamy even when poured on the skin. The beads are very small in size.

Shower Gel 4

The texture of this body wash is quite creamy. It lathers decently and doesn’t dry the skin. In fact, it definitely moisturizes the skin as I expected it to. There’s definitely a need to apply moisturiser later, but my skin feels soft and supple throughout the day. It cleanses the skin well and doesn’t leave any sticky feel to the skin.

Shower Gel 5

I didn’t feel any exfoliation sensation of the granules on my skin when I used it with a loofah. In order to test it, I then applied it and rubbed it using my hands. I could then feel the gentle exfoliating action it has. The beads are very fine and not at all harsh. So, I would say it does its job of exfoliating the skin nicely. The exfoliation is very gentle, which feels good on a daily basis.

Exfoliating Body Wash

Now coming to the fragrance, it smells like “Surf.” The smell is quite weird. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive nose and I don’t feel repulsive to it, but still it is weird. It doesn’t linger on the skin for more than a minute.

Pros of Dove Gentle Exfoliating Beauty Body Wash:

  • Moisturizes my skin.
  • Cleanses out the skin well.
  • Gentle exfoliating action, though it feels only when you use your hands.
  • Lathers decently.
  • Doesn’t leave any sticky feeling on the skin.
  • Sturdy, travel friendly bottle.

Cons of Dove Gentle Exfoliating Beauty Body Wash:

  • The “Surf-like” smell is weird and might not be acceptable to sensitive noses.

IMBB Rating:

4/5

Will I Repurchase/Do I Recommend Dove Gentle Exfoliating Beauty Body Wash?

It is a nice, economical body wash which lathers well, provides moisturisation and exfoliation and cleanses out well. So, if you are looking for a moisturising body wash, you can give it a try, but if you like your body washes to have good fragrances, or if you have extremely sensitive noses, you should give it a skip.

  1. i agree with raji…the olay one IS good!!!
and i hate weird smells,so this one is a big no no for me,thanks for the review, surbhi!!

    1. You are most welcome Neha 🙂
This is a no for me too now. 🙁 i won’t repurchase it. will try the olay one for sure 🙂

  2. I have been using this for nearly 3 months now and I dont feel any great exfoliation with this one. Though, I dont crib too badly about the smell, I ‘m not planning to repurchase this, once it gets over.

    1. i don’t plan to repurchase it either MP. 🙁 the exfoliation is definitely not great, but i found it okay for daily purposes. May be that’s because i always use mild scrubs. 🙂

  3. I used this one year back. I like Palmolive Aroma Body Washes more than this. I feel this body wash lathers very less and lot of product is needed to use it all over a body and yeah the smell is weird…

    1. yeah Neha.. i too prefer palmolive ones over this. but i have had no problem with the lather. quantity required is much more when i use it with hands for exfoliation purposes.. almost 3 times 🙁
