Recently I picked up a few shampoos and conditioners from Dove. Today’s review is all about Dove Nourishing Secrets Strengthening Shampoo. Read on to know more.

Dove Strengthening Shampoo is inspired by the Central American rituals of hair break treatment with a blend of avocado extract and calendula. My Experience with Dove Nourishing Secrets Strengthening Shampoo:

The shampoo comes in the typical shaped white bottle with a flip cap. The only difference I find with the normal ones and the ones from Nourishing secrets is the gold highlight on the flip cap. The strengthening shampoo contains Avocado and Calendula and this is highlighted on the bottle. The formula is inspired by the Central American Rituals and the same is mentioned on the bottle too. There is the necessary information present on the bottle. There is no leakage and the cap shuts with a click. The product comes only in a 250ml package and this makes it also travel-friendly.

The shampoo is creamy and white in colour. It is neither thick nor runny and spreads well when applying. The shampoo smells amazing, it is fresh and floral like but not too overpowering and very pleasant. However, the smell lasts for a shorter period.

Like claimed, the product is meat for fragile hair that is prone to breakage. I have been facing a little problem with hair fall lately and I decided to pick this one up. The shampoo lathers well and a very little product is more than enough for a thorough cleansing. If you have oiled your hair, you might need to use the shampoo twice. The shampoo makes the hair soft and smooth without a conditioner. I could feel a sense of fullness when I was rinsing off my hair. We do know the benefits of avocado and I am one of them who uses avocado for the hair for its goodness and since it has been incorporated, you can see a little goodness in the shampoo. The shampoo once dried adds a light shine to the hair and it feels smoother to touch. It doesn’t remove tangles and you would need a conditioner or a serum to get rid of them. There is also conditioner from the same range but I decided to give it a skip to try another one from the same range. The product adds life to the hair. It retains the natural texture and adds moisture to the hair from roots to the tip, nourishing it and making it look lively. It also seals the dry ends and prevent reoccurrence but doesn’t eliminate them. The product does make hair a little stronger. Even though I have hair fall, I notice fewer strands than usual. Since I still have split ends, my hair breakage is a bit higher than normal and probably there would be a lot of difference after a chop. It lives up to its claims but if you are suffering from hair fall for a very long time, the results are so-so but, if you have started having hair fall due to environmental changes, this shampoo could be a good choice. The product contains SLS, silicones sulfates which is a bummer but, other than this I am happy with the shampoo.
