I have gone back to the basics for my hair care with Dove! This was the last product I tried out of the lot and today’s review is all about Dove Nourishing Secrets Thickening Shampoo. Read on to know more.

My Experience with Dove Nourishing Secrets Thickening Shampoo:
The shampoo comes in a typical Dove designed bottle. The only difference is the presence of a light golden cap. The flip cap is pretty tight and shuts tightly causing no leakages and this makes the product travel-friendly. The design of the bottle is pretty basic. Since it contains Lavender and Rosemary, you can find the picture of these on the bottle. It is has purple highlights denoting the lavender. The thickening shampoo is inspired by the rituals of French for hair care and the same has been mentioned. All the basic information is given on the back of the bottle.
The shampoo is white in color and has a creamy texture. It has a semi-thick consistency. The smell is very pleasant, but it has that typical dove scent and it dominates the fragrance of the shampoo. The fragrance lasts very short and fades away by the time you dry your hair. There is also a conditioner and a body wash in the same range.
The shampoo is a thickening one which makes it clear that the shampoo has been targeted to people with fine and limp hair. The shampoo lathers pretty well and a little product is more than enough to get a thorough cleanse. The shampoo cleanses effectively and also removes oil. However, if you use thick oil, you need to use the shampoo twice. The product is nourishing, but a conditioner is a must and without one, you can clearly see dryness in the ends. So, this shampoo alone doesn’t do much justice to provide effective nourishment. I use a serum when I skip the conditioner to add moisture to my locks.
The product adds a little volume to the hair, however it is not very dramatic. There was a little rise in my hair roots and if you blow dry, you can get some volume, but other than that the shampoo alone doesn’t do much justice. The thickening fades away within a day. The shampoo also makes my hair greasier than usual. My hair roots turn greasy the very next day and with a conditioner, it is worse. The product contains sulfates and SLS. This one is definitely not for me and I feel it is just another Thickening claim shampoo!

- Lathers well and a small product is more than enough.
- Travel-friendly.

Cons of Dove Nourishing Secrets Thickening Shampoo:
- Contains SLS and sulfates.
- Makes hair greasier.
- Doesn’t add any moisture to the hair.

Would I Recommend or Repurchase Dove Nourishing Secrets Thickening Shampoo?
It is not a must buy! I wouldn’t repurchase it as it makes my hair greasy.
