As the sun has been shining brighter and brighter, my skin has been getting redder and redder. My skin is very sensitive to the sun, a mere 5 minutes in the sun will turn my face bright red. I rediscovered this face serum in my skincare collection had decided to try it out again. I remember I used it during the winter months, but I had not noticed any difference. I figured it was time to give this product a second try, since it has received rave reviews.

My Take on Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Advanced Face Serum

The bottle is a very sleek, green, glass bottle. Considering the price is quite high, I was glad the product came in a glass bottle. I used about three pumps of product for my entire face and neck. The consistency was very runny and has a pale yellow color. The smell of this product is quite different. To be quite honest, it did not smell good to me. It has a very earthy, mushroom scent which I’m not fond of. After a few seconds you won’t notice the smell (thankfully).
Most serums I have used in the past had a silicone feeling, whereas this had a bit of greasy feeling. I have dry skin, so I didn’t mind it. After applying this on my face I looked in the mirror, and my face looked VERY greasy. This product is better off used before going to bed.

When I woke up the next day, my face looked very plump and dewy. I also noticed that my makeup when on much smoothly on my skin. After using this for 2 weeks every night, I have found that this product works well on hydrating my skin and giving it a healthy, dewy glow. I still get very red in the sun, so I don’t think it helped with my redness. My redness is triggered by the sun, which may be why this product did not work for me. Also I have used this product only once a day for 2 weeks, the bottle recommends applying it twice a day, which may be the reason I haven’t seen any results yet. If you are someone with rosacea, this product would do a better job soothing and calming the skin.

Overall, I think this is a great product. If you are someone who has been battling dry, sensitive skin I would definitely recommend this product. Origins is known for using natural ingredients which is always a plus!
