Hey gorgeous gals,
It’s summertime and you really need to whip out your sunscreen – not to say that you shouldn’t be using your sunscreen on a daily basis anyway. It took me a while to get into the habit of using sunscreen on a daily basis. I think my usage of acids in the night kind of made it mandatory to use sunscreen in the day and then it became a habit.

My Experience with Dr Jart+ Every Sun Day UV Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ PA +++:
The product comes packaged in a white flat tube with a screw on cap. The tube has a small nozzle, which allows sufficient control over the product coming out. It’s a simple, efficient, fuss-free packaging and fairly easy to travel with.
I love my Shiseido sunscreen but it is a bit on the expensive side. So, while searching for a drugstore option, I settled on the Vichy one (matte version) and swore by it for a very long time. However, two things happened – Vichy moved out of India and also the Vichy sunscreen started feeling drying on my dehydrated skin. So, I was up for a change and decided to try this one from Dr Jart+.
Dr Jart+ is a Korean skincare brand. I did review their BB cream sometime back. Their products are now available in the US market. However, the variety of their products available in the Asian market is quite different from the US market – which may be basis what is FDA approved to be sold in the US market or what the brand presumes would sell better. This product is from the Asian market.
A sunscreen is essentially the last step of skincare. After you have cleansed your face, applied your serums/moisturizers/oils/etc is when the sunscreen goes on. Ideally, we should use sunscreen on all exposed body parts – especially if our day is spent in the sun. For facial application, your sunscreen needs to be applied to your neck right till where the neckline of your clothes starts. Your makeup – if you use any – goes on over the sunscreen.
The product is a white cream, which is ever so lightly peach tinged. It is easy to spread. Once applied, it seems to get absorbed into the skin. It does not stay on the surface. It does not give any white cask or any coverage. Although it is a cream consistency, It seems lightweight enough to get absorbed. It does not feel tacky or greasy. Your skin looks and feels like skin. This makes it a great sunscreen to wear under your makeup.
It is a physical sunscreen, which is considered a better option than a chemical one. It blocks out the UVA and UVB rays without allowing them to absorb into the skin. It leaves no residue, oiliness, greasiness on the skin. Also, it has skin beneficial ingredients:
-Aloe vera extract which hydrates the skin, and
-Portulaca oleracea extract which soothes and calms the skin.
The product has a light lavender fragrance – nothing obtrusive – it is very light. It comes from the addition of lavender oil in the product.
To me, it is a perfect sunscreen – works its magic and is undetectable and unobtrusive to the application of makeup on top. However, I would like to point something out – as per the brand – the formulation is suitable for sensitive skin. However, the existence of lavender oil in the formula might actually cause irritation to someone with sensitive skin. It has no impact on me because my skin isn’t sensitive. However, if yours is, I would suggest you try before you buy especially if you have sensitivity towards essential oils.
