I prefer very minimal makeup during summers. For the base, I prefer a light tinted moisturiser or BB creams. I’ve heard great things about Dr. Jart+ BB creams. This brand offers several BB creams and I picked up two of them. I am reviewing the first one called Dr. Jart+ Illuminating BB Brush.
What it is:
A brush-type illuminating BB cream to highlight for radiant and glowing skin.
What it is formulated to do:
– BB cream infused with essential skin care ingredients to keep skin healthy and moisturized
– Features SPF 30 sun protection
– Comes in one shade
This illuminating BB cream comes in a tube with brush applicator. The soft, fine brush is portable and allows easy application for strobing makeup. The BB cream contains ultra-fine luminescent pearls with subtle radiance to naturally cover uneven skin tone and blemishes while creating voluminous and radiant skin. Moisturizing ingredients—such as nordenau water and herbal and rose fruit extract—keep your skin hydrated, while SPF30 broad spectrum protects your skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
How to Use:
-After using a BB cream, gently squeeze the tube to dispense the content.
-Sweep the brush across forehead, cheekbones, nose, brow bone, chin, and above your lips to create voluminous, glowing, and radiant skin.
My Experience with Dr. Jart+ Illuminating BB Brush Broad Spectrum SPF 30:
Dr. Jart+ Illuminating BB Brush Broad Spectrum SPF 30 comes housed in a matte black squeezy tube with an attached brush on it. I personally don’t this packaging since I like blending my base with a Beauty blender or a brush.
I feel the brush it comes with leads to product wastage since the bristles hold too much product. The names of the brand and product are printed at the front of the tube. If you have dry, dull skin and you are looking for an everyday foundation with very natural coverage then you need this in your life.
Dr. Jart+ Illuminating BB Brush offers sheer to light-medium coverage and is highly blendable. It offers dewy finish that won’t make your skin look dull and flat. If you have oily skin then it’s a definite no-no, but if you’ve combination skin then it will definitely work with a setting powder. For people with dry skin, it’s a match made in heaven.
It gives a fresh, dewy glow to the skin and blends in the skin seamlessly without caking up. It does not hide imperfections or scars or marks, but it does even out the skin tone, cancels redness and offers a very natural everyday coverage with sun protection. I have not noticed any fragrance, so it’s definitely a plus.
This can also be worn alone or as a primer, if you want more coverage. I keep it on for 8 hours and it does make my T-zone a little oily. But, that can be fixed with some setting powder. It also doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin or cause acne. The only drawback is that Dr. Jart+ offers just one shade which will work only for fair to fair-medium skin tones.
Pros of Dr. Jart+ Illuminating BB Brush Broad Spectrum SPF 30:
• Best for dry skin
• Natural dewy finish
• No fragrance
• Fit for sensitive skin
Cons of Dr. Jart+ Illuminating BB Brush Broad Spectrum SPF 30:
• Not for oily skin
• Only one shade
• Brush soaks up the product
IMBB Rating: 4.8/5
