My Experience with Dr. Reddy’s Shadowz Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30:

Well, few months ago, a dermatologist suggested this sunscreen to my mother as she gets tanned very frequently. It really suited her, so I also gave it a try. Fortunately, it suited me well also. It actually makes a layer which resists the sun rays from the skin. I also get tanned very easily, but I really liked the way this lotion worked on my tanned skin. What i don’t like about this product is the greasy and sticky appearance I get if I use it even a little more than sufficient.

It comes in a simple tube form in which most of the sunscreen come in India. It has products description and other details printed over it. Overall, a pretty sturdy and basic packaging, nothing extraordinary or attractive about it. The ingredients include purified water, shea butter, glycerine, octocrylene and a lot of chemical names are also written over there!

I start sweating too much when I use this lotion and sometimes, get my nose shiny and sweaty. According to the claim, it is a non-oily product. Once I stopped using this lotion and it was kept unused for 1-2 months and when I squeezed the tube, oil started coming out of the tube and after a lot of oil, I got the cream from the tube. It works quite well as a moisturiser cum sunscreen for dry skin and also, it does not leave a white cast. But, I think it is going to be a recipe for disaster if used on oily skin. So, its claim that it is suitable for all skin types is also not true.

The tube was kept on stand for few months more. But, still it works good on my skin and I get tanned very less while I use it. It lasts for long too, so seems well priced. Also, the product description says that it’s fragrance free, but it has got a light smell of medicines which I, obviously, do not like.

Dr. Reddy's Shadowz Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 Review3

Overall, I feel it’s a decent sunscreen lotion that prevents sun damage and tanning, but one needs to take a patch test first to see how it works on their skin.

• SPF 30, UVA/UVB and PA+++.
• Packaging is quite nice and neat.

  1. I really need a dry touch sunscreen – I keep hoping for such a review – something that brightens the complexion instead of making it oily :/ I too have used my fair share of pharma sunscreens – if they improve their base it`d be perfect because they have a great concentration of sunscreen ingredients in them.
