This review will be on the Drunk Elephant Shaba Complex Eye Serum.
A brightening eye serum formulated with a powerhouse of ingredients to tackle major signs of visible aging under and around the eyes, such as fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles, puffiness, and age spots.
What it is formulated to do:
The Shaba Complex™ Eye Serum contains potent doses of black tea ferment and copper peptides that work together to support natural collagen and elastin production and stop glycation—effectively fighting aging before it begins. The combination of edelweiss stem cells and niacinamide visibly reduce wrinkle depth and improve elasticity and barrier function. A derivative of the flavonoid hesperdin works to reduce dark circles while powerful antioxidants in Co-Q10 fade age spots. Apply under the eye, around the orbital bone, and on the eyelid each morning and night for a healthy-looking, renewed, radiant appearance. It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.
My Experience with Drunk Elephant Shaba Complex Eye Serum:
Packaging: I love how this eye serum is packaged. I love the innovative syringe-type dispenser. You push the button at the bottom and it would dispense the right amount of product, enough for both eyes. This type of packaging reduces wastage and also prevents the product from coming in contact with air which could reduce its efficiency.
Texture: This serum is very lightweight and has a thin, serum-like consistency. It is creamy yet it is not heavy on the skin, I dab a little amount under my “under eye” and orbital bone area. It absorbs quickly without any greasiness or residue. It is not thick or heavy, yet it is very effective and hydrating. Due to its lightweight texture, I can easily use this under my makeup without fear of my concealer not adhering or slipping around. Post application, I can instantly feel my eye area feeling smoother and firmer.
Results: I have been using this product for a little more than a month now and I have noticed a huge improvement in my eye area. My eye area feels and looks better and better with regular use. I am still in my mid 20s, so I don’t have a huge issue with wrinkles, but it has helped reduce the appearance of fine lines around my eyes. I do have hereditary dark circles, so I don’t think that can be erased with any eye cream, but this product has made them look less like “I got no sleep for 3 days,” instead they look more bright and smooth.
I love the fact that this product is fragrance free and is suitable for sensitive skin types. I would totally rate this as one of the best eye creams that I have used. I am very happy with this product. This product works best for those who would like a good eye cream to wear daily under makeup or on its own, which keeps your eye area nourished and in good shape to prevent premature ageing, fine lines and wrinkles. If you are someone who already suffers from heavy wrinkles, I am not sure this will help you tackle that. In that case, you will be better off using an anti-ageing product like retinol for that. I will recommend this product to everyone out there.
