E.L.F. Angled Contour Brush Review

E.L.F. Angled Contour Brush

Hey there!

As a budding makeup aficionado on a budget, the one thing that fascinated me by being out of reach were good quality makeup brushes. Sigma and MAC brushes that retail at almost 2k a brush are too expensive for someone just starting out with makeup.

So as usual, I kept an eye out for some affordable but high quality brushes. My search came to a screeching halt when I learnt about the e.l.f. Studio brush collection. These have been compared to MAC brushes and sometimes even come out on top, at the price point they are undoubtedly a better deal than the MAC ones. My first e.l.f. brush was a flat top kabuki that I instantly fell in love with! The brush I am now going to review is my second eye brush and works flawlessly.

Packaging:

The brush comes in the classic e.l.f. packaging of a flapped plastic pouch that can be used to transport the brush safely. The e.l.f. Studio brushes are soft, high quality brushes that are made of Synthetic Taklon hair. They are all-black brushes, with a very sleek, professional-looking design. The only thing I can say about these brushes which is not a positive attribute is that the names on the brushes do tend to fade as they are printed and not engraved, but to me, that is a very minor con considering the price that you pay and the quality that is offered. Infact, this can be dealt with very easily, all you need to do is to apply a transparent nail paint to the brush name and voila! It’ll never fade.

My take on E.L.F. Angled Contour Brush

I honestly took to eye makeup like a duck does to water, but eyeshadow blending was always a sore spot for me. This brush helped me take this issue by the tail and throw it right out of the park. It blends eyeshadows and contours my crease like a dream. Remember the little outer V of your eyeshadow that sometimes refuses to blend evenly and make you feel like a 90’s failed starlet?
This brush makes sure that even that is blended out perfectly!

But wait! The beauty of this brush doesn’t end here. Once I wanted to apply bronzer for some contouring and for the life of me, I couldn’t seem to find my flat top brush so I just used this to contour. Boy! It worked amazingly! This is a multipurpose brush that can be used for a wide number of purposes, ranging from contouring features, placing the eyshadow, blending the eyeshadow or even concealing blemishes.

From my experience with them, they do not shed in any way whatsoever. They are relatively easy to clean, and once they are taken care of, I am pretty sure that they will last you quite a while.
