E.L.F Cream Eyeliner in Copper

ELF Cream Eyeliner in Copper

Hey there!

Like any fashionista worth her salt, I know that cream/gel eyeliners are the best of the best when it comes to eyeliners. Their budge proof crease resistant formula are the talk of the town. Like all Indian brats, I began my foray into the world of gel liners with Maybelline and have now proceeded to take baby steps elsewhere. But keeping in mind budgetary restrictions I began trawling the internet for affordable coloured gel liners. Even if there were many options, the best one for me were the cream liners from e.l.f. that I could get my bro to buy from the States.
The product I am now going to review is the 4th cream liner that I have purchased from e.l.f. which goes to prove how much I love this particular range.

Directions of use

Dip the thin angled brush into the formula, swirl around gently until brush is saturated with colour. Swipe off any excess formula on the top edge of the pot. Trace a line along the top lash line from the inner corner towards the outer corner of the eye. If desired, apply on lower lash line as well. Remove with an oil based eye makeup remover.

Ingredients

Isododecane, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Polybutene, Polyethylene, Barium Sulfate, Cyclomethicone, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Propylene Carbonate, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI77891), Red No.40 Lake (CI 16035), Mica (CI 77019), Blue No.1 Lake (CI 42090), Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510), Ultramarine Violet (CI77077).

Packaging

It comes in a plastic tub type package that is both travel safe and snazzy. It is supposed to prevent the quick drying out of the gel liner but frankly the liner that I have is well on its way to becoming too try to use. But in the brand’s defence the three other cream liners that I have are going just fine. It comes with a mini angled eyeliner brush that is stuffiest for some on-the-go touch ups but doesn’t let you make too precise lines.

My take on the E.L.F Cream Eyeliner in Copper:

Let me start by saying that I hate, by that I mean, I despise cleaning my eyeliner brushes. It makes me ache to master the art of liquid liner and not bother with the entire she-bang! But anyway, I still prefer gel liners because I feel I can apply them way more awesomely and they have a faster drying time, a very important factor for a chick with huge eyes.

Of the 3 liners this is the least emollient out of the lot, it seems a tad too dry and just drags a little harshly on my delicate eye region. I am sure I’ll find a way to make this texture problem better by some DIY project but well it’s a product flaw. But it has this beautiful metallic sheen that looks absolutely gorgeous when it peeks though some strategically placed black liner. It is also waterproof and taken an oil based makeup remover to be taken off completely. It lasts for a good 5-6 hours on my oily eyelid with minimal fading on the outer corners (oily corners, I am afraid). After which it becomes extremely “smudg-ey” and just kind of slides around with the lightest touch. It also suffers from the lack of single stroke opacity, it needs to be layered for the flawless line and can be a tad too time consuming.
