You might know by now that I’m a lip product fanatic and I love to collect lip balms and lip products. If not, well now you know. I picked this product when I was shopping as I found it too cute to leave it out. Let’s see whether it performs just as well!

Product description & ingredients:
My experience on ELF Honey Do Super Glossy Lip Shine with SPF 15:
Packaging: Like all ELF products, this one too comes in a cardboard packaging and has a transparent plastic to show the product. The back of the cardboard displays the details such as product description, ingredients etc. The product name is printed on the front. The actual glossy lip balm comes in a clear plastic inverted tube. The screw cap is transparent and has a sticker that shows the shade name. The body has silver details and since the body is chubby, it looks really cute. It has a slant tip applicator and an outlet to dispense the product. I am not that comfortable using this slant tip so I just dispense the product on my lips and spread it evenly with my finger.
Color/Pigmentation: ‘Honey Do’ looks a beautiful orangey-red color from the tube but comes off as a sheer lip gloss with just a bit of tint. I do not like when beautiful lip glosses come off as super sheer on the lips. No matter how much product you apply, all you get is a little tint of color! It is really disappointing. I must have at least 20 such products that look gorgeous from the tube but give no visible color. The pigmentation is very poor, but it gives your lips a nice sheen and makes them look healthy and full.
Texture: The texture is really thick and little sticky. The gloss spreads evenly but as I said I use my finger to do so. The slant applicator does not do a very good job in spreading it evenly. It is slightly stickier than your usual lip glosses. But on the lips, it isn’t that sticky. Even though the consistency is thick, the gloss doesn’t feel heavy if you apply moderately. It moisturizes the lips well. Also it gives a different feeling to my lips when I apply them. I do not know how to describe it. But I’m not that comfortable with that feeling. It burns a little bit on my lips.
Staying Power: Since this gloss is thick, it sticks to the lips and stays for quite long. It has a staying power of 5-6 hours. It survives light meals. The gloss fades with meals but the product stays.
Smell and Taste: This gloss reminds me of Yardley’s Red Passion Lip balm with respect to its fragrance as well and texture. This one has the same fruity scent to it, which I love. The fragrance is a little bit stronger and you can smell it even when the cap is closed. It has a sweet bubblegum-like taste to it.

- Moisturizes the lips

- Tastes sweet
- Doesn’t feel much sticky
- Gives a nice healthy sheen to the lips
- Staying Power
Cons of e.l.f. Honey Do Essential Super Glossy Lip Shine:
- Not easily available in India
- Gives a slight burning sensation to my lips
- Very sheer

Final Verdict:
I won’t repurchase any of these lip balms because this one gives a burning sensation to my lips. But if you like the review, go ahead and try it!

burning sensation even if it’s very light is a big nono!
Okay so this is a bit too glossy for my taste and I don’t like the sticky feeling. Also, it burns, so I wouldn’t want to put my lips through that. So, thanks Priyanka, this one is clearly off my list 😀
