We spend time and money in selecting and buying good makeup and then we spend time and energy in applying that makeup well but if that does not stay long on us, it does not feel good right. We all love our makeup to be long lasting and look fresh throughout the day. There are many such products available in market which claims to make our makeup last long. Today I am going to review once such product for you all from e.l.f.

What Product Claims: Wish you could have a product for your makeup like Hairspray is for your hair? Well… keep your makeup staying in place all day with a radiance boosting invisible hold with our new Makeup Mist and Set. The invigorating mist moisturizes and soothes the skin with key ingredients Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C and E. The lightweight, comfortable and alcohol free formula improves makeup wearability and prevents color from running or fading.

My Experience with E.L.F. Studio Makeup Mist and Set:

This is a clear spray which Aloe, Green Tea, cucumber extracts in it all of which is great for skin. I use it as the last step for my makeup, after setting the makeup with powder I use 3 spray of this on my face, 1 spray from front and 2 from sides. It takes a minute to get absorbed in skin. And once it dries it gives a dewy finish to skin. So if you don’t like the dry, matt powdery look then you will love using this setting spray. Though I have noticed that after a while my face feels sticky, so now I have started using one last layer of powder after this spray is set, that keeps me oil free for longer. Hence I will recommend this for normal to dry skin beauties more than oily skin beauties. However for summers or humid season if you like to use some face spray you can use this one for same too.

Talking about this making my makeup stay longer, I feel it scored above average there. I generally wear long lasting makeup but on top of that using this spray has increased the lasting time for an hour or so. For sure the freshness of makeup on face stays for longer. Even in a sunny day the makeup applied at 9 in morning looks fresh till 2 in afternoon which is great. So it improves the freshness of makeup more than improving its lasting power which is great as we all love to look fresh always.

It comes in plastic bottle with a spray nozzle. The packaging does not feel very sturdy however it’s functional. Spraying the mist from 6-8 inches away from face gives the best result, as the mist is distributed evenly like this. I have not used any other makeup setting spray in past so I cannot compare it with something else but based on my experience with this spray I will say that this is a good product for this price. If you have normal to dry skin, or you like using face mists in summer then look no further and give this makeup setting spray a try. However if you don’t like dewy finish and makeup lasting time is the main concern for you then try some other brand.

Cons of E.L.F. Studio Makeup Mist and Set:

• Contains Parabeen.
• Not very sturdy packaging.
• Can make feel heavy/sticky for oily skin but adding some powder on top can solve the issue.
• Not really makes makeup last long.

Will I be repurchasing it? May be, especially if I can get it from USA as in India it’s sold online for 5 times its actual cost.
