Today I am going to review e.l.f. Tea Rose Matte Lip Color.

My Experience with e.l.f. Tea Rose Matte Lip Color:
This Elf matte lip colour comes in a matte black tube with a twist-and-lock mechanism. The twisting of the tube is quite smooth and you can actually see how much product you are getting. The tube is colour-coded at the bottom, which makes the identification of the shade so much easier. The coloured band at the bottom is actually a little sharpener for the lipstick which is supposed to be used for giving your lipstick a pointed shape. I personally don’t prefer to use a sharpener for such packaging as sharpening leads to a lot of wastage. Plus, the lipstick is already quite slim for the application. The lipstick tube came stacked in a black paper packaging with shade and colour mentioned at the bottom. Overall, I love the packaging.
Tea Rose shade is a beautiful rose shade with purple undertones. There is no scent or flavour to this lipstick which is actually a good thing for me. The lipstick is quite creamy and feels very light when applied on the lips. The application is also very smooth and it glides nicely on the lips. The shade is very light so I need many strokes to cover my lips. Now, here comes the problem! I have super dry lips and somehow this lipstick is just not for me. I mean I have seen this range looking so awesome on others but I was so disappointed when I applied to my lips.
Firstly, my lips are a little bit pigmented as they remain very dry nowadays. Secondly, this lipstick dries out my lips more. The shade and the texture both do not look good at all on my lips. This lipstick actually highlights my fine lines and makes them look even worse. I thought of trying it with a lip balm but it actually made my lips appear more pigmented. I also tried it after exfoliating my lips and it looked better. Still, it makes my lips very dry after some time. The staying power is average and reapplication is required after every few hours. The best part is that it does not transfer when I drink something. Overall it’s a good shade and range for people with hydrated and non-pigmented lips maybe. It is a good product, just that it is not for me.
