e.l.f. Tone Correcting Powder Review

Skin-tone: Fair to medium; Skin-type: Combination and acne-prone

Hello sweeties,

We all know how affordable and user-friendly the stuffs from e.l.f. are! I noticed a very unique product from them long back. We have always seen correcting concealers but not correcting pressed powders. I saw this one and picked it up to try. I have been using it since long and now it is finally the time to review! So let’s start.

e.l.f. Tone Correcting Powder

Price: $4/Rs 270
Product Description by e.l.f:
Create a balanced and radiant complexion that is beautiful and healthy. The lightweight formula evens out skin tone and absorbs excess oil, and sheer formula brightens, mattes and neutralizes the skin. The colors are meant to be blended together as the Blue neutralizes orange, the Green neutralizes red, the Pink neutralizes grey and the Yellow brightens and neutralizes red.
How to use: Using a complexion brush, swirl over the powders, and apply over the face in sweeping motions.

My Experience with e.l.f. Tone Correcting Powder:

Packaging: The e.l.f. corrector powder comes in a compact square packaging in basic black. The palette is a small one which is very handy but the texture of the powder is chalky so there are chances of this breaking if at all it drops. It has a small mirror attached to it as well which can be used for makeup touch-ups. The palette has 4 colours, pink, yellow, green and blue. The name is nicely engraved over it. The packaging is really good at just $4.

Texture, shades and feel on the skin: The texture is powdery and although it is finely milled, it causes a little fall-out in the pan during application. It is a bit chalky but it goes smooth on the skin. The pink brightens up my complexion a bit, not very much but it adds freshness to my dull skin. The yellow is meant to hide blue veins or a little blueness near the dark circles but I did not notice much of a change there. The green as you all know is known to hide redness and it did pretty well. It hides the red patches around my mouth area, nose and on the pimples. It does fade after a while and the redness becomes visible but my face looks even initially. The blue one is usually used to neutralise the warm undertones of the skin. I do have warm undertones like most Indians and it did neutralise it. My face looked even toned and a bit on the cooler hue too. The powder is fine and goes very gentle on the skin without any irritation.

Results: This is a very good setting powder that can be used over foundation to set it. It works like talc which does not give any tint to the skin. It neutralises the skin and adds freshness. It also takes away all the oil turning my face matte and keeps the oil from coming back for the next 4-5 hours. The effect of this powder stays for around 4-5 hours and then the uneven skin and redness start showing up. Overall, a very nice and unique product to try!
