Eating Out – Yo! China GK-1 M Block Market

Place : Yo! China, GK-1 M Block market, New Delhi

Yo! China is one place where we visit only once in a while. It’s been around for years. We have seen it getting revamped from funky Mc Donald’s Red- Yellow Combination fun place to a nice cozy warm beige restaurant.

There are two reasons why we go to Yo China :

  • The food is good
  • Food is inexpensive

Yo China

Yo China Every time you visit Yo China you see a little difference in ambiance . This time there were these pretty candles on the table.

Yo China We always start with soups. I ordered Veg Talumein Soup. It’s a clear soup prepared with noodles, carrots, baby corn, eggplant, capsicum, beans etc.

Sanjeev ordered his regular Chicken Sweet corn soup.

I forgot the name of this appetizer. But these are just long spring rolls with mix vegetables and cheese filling. It was yum but a little heavy.

Yo ChinaThey serve these rolls with delicious tomato garlic sauce.

For the main meal we ordered Veg Fried Rice and Kung Pao Clay Pot. You have an option to choose from the variety of noodles rice and curies. They offer great variety both in veg and non veg. They huge menu cna they also keep updating it by adding new dishes every once a while.

Veg fried rice are tossed in finely cut veggeis . They are not as heavy as noodles and make a great meal with the curries.

Kung Pao Clay Pot is basically assorted vegetables and nuts cooked in various sauces. Delicious! is an understatement. 🙂

They have a very small menu of desserts. We chose a regular Brownie with ice cream. Although I wanted to order Devil’s chocolate Bull’s eye but that was a huge portion of chocolate brownie with ice-cream and some sauces. So we opted for this.

Oh! they have started serving sea food also these days. This is a photo of Buddha Lobster.

They also served us complimentary Jasmine tea in cute chinese cups. It tasted like scented Jasmine water. :curse:

The cutlery is very basic, the seating has both sofa and chair options, and the music is very okayish. But what’s best about Yo! China is the variety of dishes they offer at super reasonable prices. They serve the real Chinese food. The soups are not Indianized nor are the curries. The service I say is very desi but I don’t mind that since it’s not annoying at all. The waiters are at your service at your one call. The food takes some 15- minutes to be served but it is served amazingly hot and it is very well prepared.

They serve some amazing drinks and dimsums also to start with. As per your preference, you can ask them to prepare your meal without ajinomoto.

A good meal for two would cost you anything between Rs 500-600

A good place to visit if you like to have Chinese food.

  • Ambiance – 3/5
  • Service 3/5
  • Food 4/5
  • Price  4/5
