My Experience with EcoTools Total Perfecting Blender:

EcoTools Perfecting blender sponge comes in a hard, transparent plastic box. The beauty sponge claims to be are made with 70% plant-based materials, it is latex free and it is 100% vegan and cruelty free. I personally like using makeup sponges to apply and blend my foundation, concealer and blush. I don’t need million brushes to apply my makeup. I find them convenient. The Real Techniques complexion sponge is really good; however, it consumes a lot of product.

EcoTools Total Perfecting Blender packaging

The EcoTools beauty sponge is green in colour. When you take it out of the packaging, you basically get the sponge and a plastic stand on which you can dry your sponge. The beauty sponge expands to a good size after I soak the sponge in the water and squeeze out the water, and this is how application is described in the packaging.

The sponge is shaped like your typical rounded sponge with oval-shaped bottom, good for blending in or applying your foundation or cream blush. The round surface offers a soft and thorough blend. When you turn the sponge to another side, it has got a large flat side that allows for either applying foundation, blush or concealer. I like this side for applying cream blush and highlighters. This side is also great for applying loose powder while baking. The flat side edge is smaller compared to the other side, I prefer this for blending in concealer and for applying loose powder under my eyes. The beauty sponge also has a top flat head. This wedge-like tip allows for a precise straight lines.

EcoTools Total Perfecting Blender

The sponge allows easy application of my foundation, cream blush and concealer. I just dab the sponge on my face to get an even application of the product. It’s very easy to apply and the different sides of the sponge allows to get into the nooks and corners of my face easily. My only issue with this sponge is that the sponge is more firm compared to the softness of the Original Beauty Blender and Real Techniques sponge. This sponge is sturdier than the Real Techniques one. It doesn’t tear easily.

The beauty sponge doesn’t soak up a lot of product. I can easily clean this sponge by soaking it in shampoo and water. The foundation stains are easily washed away. After washing, I keep it on the plastic stand and let it dry overnight. Overall, this sponge is not on par with original Beauty Blender, but it is better than the Real Techniques sponge. This sponge is really good compared to other drugstore sponges. I really like it.

Pros of EcoTools Total Perfecting Blender:

  • Ease of application.
  • Eliminates the use of multiple brushes.
  • Gives beautiful, flawless foundation coverage.
  • Applies cream blush effectively.
  • The plastic stand allows me to dry and store the sponge.
  • Portability for travel.
  • Good packaging.

Cons of EcoTools Total Perfecting Blender:

  • Not easily available in India.
