Effective Home Remedies to Reduce Pores

So, why to spend so much when the solution can be found in your kitchen itself? Hence, we bring to you a list of home remedies to reduce the size of open pores.

1. Rub with ice

Ice is known to shrink vessels and contract skin tissues leading to instant shrinking of pores. Do this regularly, after you cleanse your face. It will also remove the dirt from your skin. Also, rubbing your face with an ice cube before putting makeup will not only shrink the pores but also will work as a very good primer.

2. Fuller’s earth

Fuller’s earth or multani mitti is another great ingredient for your skin. It naturally exfoliates your skin, removing excess oil and other impurities. It also cleanses the pores making them appear smaller. Mix 2 tablespoons of Fuller’s earth with a few drops of rosewater and apply evenly. Rinse off after it dries completely.

Aloe vera gel nourishes and moisturizes the skin which helps in removing oil and dirt from the clogged pores. This will make the pores appear less conspicuous. Doing this regularly will even help you to get rid of your pores. Apply aloe vera gel evenly throughout your face and rinse off after 30 minutes. You can also keep this overnight as it works as a great natural moisturizer.

4. Tomato with besan or oatmeal

Tomatoes act as a natural astringent that dramatically shrinks the size of the pores along with cleaning them. While, oatmeal is great for exfoliating the skin, and hence, removing excess oil and dead skin cells that make open pores appear larger. It also soothes the skin, and hence, can be used for sensitive skin as well. Besan also exfoliates the skin and tightens the pores and so can be used as a substitute to oatmeal.

Toning will make your pores less visible. Apple cider vinegar is an excellent toner. It cleanses your skin, tightens pores and maintains the pH level. Mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water and apply all over your face with the help of a cotton ball. Let it stay for a couple of minutes and then rinse off. Repeat every day, after cleansing your face.

Egg whites not only acts as an amazing toner but also deep cleanses your skin. It deep cleanses the clogged pores, which in turn controls oil production. Beat an egg and apply it evenly on your face. Let it dry completely and then rinse off. You can also add a few drops of lemon juice to this for added benefits.

Baking soda acts as a gentle exfoliating agent removing any dirt, grime and debris from your skin. It regulates the skin’s acid content, thus maintaining the pH balance of the skin. It also has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties which help to reduce acne. Just mix 1 tablespoon baking soda with lukewarm water to make a paste and massage gently over the affected areas for 30 seconds. Do this once in 1 or 2 weeks.

Do you remember that yogurt and honey appear in almost all the age-old beauty secrets? Well, this is no exception. Yogurt tightens the pores and reduces blemishes. The lactic acid present in it is a great cleanser and exfoliator for your skin. While honey has anti-bacterial properties that help to unclog the pores and also kills bacteria. Mix yogurt and honey and apply to the affected areas. Let it stay for about 20 minutes before rinsing off.

9. Sugar scrub

Sugar is one of the best and most commonly used exfoliant used in skin care routines. It works as a natural exfoliator to remove dead skin cells and impurities from the pores. Mix 1 tablespoon sugar with 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 tablespoon honey or olive oil. Massage this gently on the skin for about 3-5 minutes and then rinse off. Use this scrub once a week.

10. Papaya

Papaya deeply cleanses the skin by removing impurities. It also unclogs and tightens the pores. Mash the papaya and apply it over your skin. Leave on for 20 minutes and wash it off with cold water. You can apply this method once in two days.
