Eid Mubarak! Happy Eid-ul-fitr!

After 29 days of fasting, Eid-ul-fitr is upon us again.

In Arabic, Eid means “festive” and fitr means “breaking of fast”. This day is a day for celebrations for Muslims all over the world-waking up early in the morning, putting on new clothes and accessories and going to the prayer, going to all
the relative’s house nearby and then coming home for a grand lunch [mutton biriyani—YUM!] with the whole family.

For me, the night before is the best part, all the girls in the family get together in a single house and put on mehendi for each other and sit around and talk until midnight and color coordinate our churidars and hijabs…It’s the best day ever!

So here is wishing a wonderful Eid-Ul-fitr to everyone out there.
