Outfit of the Day – Eid Special

Outfit of the Day – Eid Special

Hey Ladies!

First of all, Eid Mubarak to everyone!

eid outfit

I am sharing with you an outfit post of what I wore on the Eid celebration day. On Eid day we had a party where all our closest family and friends gathered for a fun time. Eid is one of the biggest holidays for us, so everyone (especially the ladies) love to dress up and shine on Eid day. What I wore is a peacock themed dress which consists of the colors golden-beige, blue, and little hints of green. I bought this dress in a little Pakistani-Indian shop in London so the designer is unknown. I was awestruck when I saw this suit hanging in the shop and I immediately moved to the rack not even noticing the sales clerk’s greetings.

As I was looking for my size, I noticed there was NO small size. There was only medium, large, and extra-large. The employee said that if I purchase this dress in medium they can alter it to my size and it will take 4 days. That was impossible for me since I was leaving back home to the States the next day. I was so much in love with the dress that I just couldn’t let go of and just bought the medium sized dress and decided to somehow figure out a way to alter it back home. Once back home and as the days grew closer to Eid I was worried about my outfit because I really wanted to wear it. That is when my lovely Mom came to the rescue and decided to give it a try and alter it for me and once she was done I was very pleased with the results. So let’s move on to the dress.
Indian outfits

The dress is long and loose fitted. It is very flowy, somewhat like a gown. It is so long that if I don’t wear heels you will not be able to see my feet at all. It has an embellished work over the chest and down towards the middle. The work consists of peacock feathers that are stitched on and clear and colored rhinestones. There are also many beads, stones, and sequins in different colors to create a beautiful neckline. The dress has velvet borders and there is also velvet material in the shoulder area and the back. The dress also comes with a duppata but since the dress is loose and flows down freely, I decided not to carry it.

I paired some traditional bangles that consisted of blue and gold colors which matched my dress perfectly. I also paired big golden jhumka earrings, they look like they’re very heavy but actually they are very light weight. For shoes, I wore a stiletto gold metallic strap heel which has a white pebbled finish. I also carried a small gold pouch/clutch which had a silver broach on it which I used to hold my lipstick and liner.

For makeup, I did a smoky blue and golden look. I tried to resemble peacock colors. I wore Estee’ Lauder lipstick in Woodland Berry. For foundation I used Makeup Forever HD Foundation and contoured my face with NYC bronzer.
