A few days back, Sanjeev came across a blue eye makeup look by Rae Morris, Australian Makeup Artist and asked me if I could do it. It was a huge challenge for me because this look required me to push my own limits. This is the third time I am trying this look and I am pretty happy with it. Infact, I am elated. 😀
This is the closest I could come to the original look. The main difference I see is with the products used and ofcourse, that look is done by THE Rae Morris.
It took me almost two hours to do the look but now that I have done it, I feel I could have done this more and that less.
The look is quite “fashion” or “ramp” or let’s say “photo shoot” kinds so not something I would personally wear outside. 
It was a little creative challenge that I wanted to do.
Here is a little blurred pic of my closed eyes. My camera was just not picking up the colour.

Farha A lot of people dont like UD because they say it’s chalky. They come in three shades . If at all you plan to get it, get an original one. I would say that you rather get a mac paint pot or mac paint, they are fantastic. from US pick up skin care or colours. Foundations, primers etc you can always pick from india.

Suma I think you feel that due to the lightning. Personally I believe the model must have put the same amount of white highlighter in the inner corners, just that due to the lightning plus few effects its toned it down. But to achieve that look you need to put quite a lot of amount so that it reflects properly when shooted in those harsh lights.

rati u have got lovely eyebrows,dark & dense.u do anything 4 that ya its like that from the begining.
I darkened my eyebrows for the look. but I do have pretty black eyebrows naturally. 🙂

Maybe it is blurred compared to your supersharp single eye photo..but the colours are all nicely seen – and I kind of felt it gives a better idea overall too :toothygrin: :-* :-* You did so much work…I tho would have put half eye, 3/4 eye, closed eye, open eye, sleepy eye..everything if I did so much work :smug:

Wow Rati, this is gorgeous. Love the different colors and how they meld together. The finished look is quite striking. :worship: I must try that concealer. :)) Did you use anything on your eyebrows? They look great.
I love that concealer, Ida. I do like the foundation as well but then I dont have perfect match for it so i kind a avoid using it. I use this concealer as a tinted moisturiser and concealer both and I love the finish it gives. I used stark black eyeshadow to fill in my brows. Thank you. 🙂

I never seem to get better at my eyeshadow application..especially the crease and blending part. I am thinking its probably the brushes.. ?:) but then I see all these girls here do such wonderful looks with just any normal kinda brush..I dont get it 🙁
Jane brushes help, atleast they have helped me. I always tell sanjeev that i would never be able to thank Sigma enough. They have totally shown me the value of good brushes. If you dont want to pick from Sigma , you may pick mac brushes as well. MAC 239, 217 and 219 will do just everything for you. 239- apply, 217 blend + apply and 219 for lower lashline crease, inner corner etc. Otherwise you have these Maxine brushes no . they have mac 239 ka dupe. I think 3/8 ” am not too sure.
Try the loew cornell 1/4 mini mop…its a pakka MAC 217 dupe 🙂 Cheap as chips… 🙂
yeah my michaels never seem to be out of stock always..but I am thinking of going for sigma..mebbe if do well with that i’ll graduate to MAC..Coz everytime eye practise crease work it looks horrible !! I used to think I was artsy and all that..but this one..not my cup of tea so far

Rati. One thing my hubby and I noticed is that the model is wearing foundation a lot lighter with light lippie and no other color on the face so her eyes are lookin more colored and vibrant. Right na?
Bee there are a lot of things in teh photograph
1. This is professionally shot so the lighting and colours might be looking different than what they originally were.
2. The photograph might be photoshopped to adjust to the entire look.
3. the lipstick is def pale but i wont be able to tell about the foundation shade being lighter or not..For prof photographs contouring and highlighting is a must or else the features look flat. Check shading around her face nose etc. There is full makeup on her fact but photography is also adding to the magic. 🙂
yeah, i agree with poutmati…….i have seen those profressional photo shoots on america’s next top model and some other shoots where they light it and do touch up the pics extensively so colours and everything might get changed………………but i liked poutmati’s work artistic……………………… :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap:

Rati, LOVE what u’ve done…its a gorgeous interpretation of the RM look…u’r blending is flawless…2hrs well spent;) BTW the original look may be editorial, but IMO your version is totally wearable for a night out. I did this look last night using various MAC e/s + Delft paint pot as a base (only diff from your look was that i toned down the highlighting on the inner tear duct) and i got a zillion compliments…so thanks for the RM inspiration.
