Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask Review

Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask Review

Hello Ladies,

I will be reviewing another Elemis product, it is the Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask. I was introduced to this product by my mother again.  So as you all know, I have super sensitive skin which is easily irritable if it dislikes certain products. When it is irritated, my skin appears to have redness and breakouts, and I guess a lot of you ladies also face similar sort of issues occasionally. And on days like these, I feel so frustrated and angry at my skin, but sort of have to live with it. My mother finally came to my rescue and suggested this clay mask and asked me to try it during days like these when I faced redness on my face 😛

I will give you her tip though, when you face a lot of breakouts, try going natural – use multani mitti (Fuller’s Earth), it does wonders and is totally inexpensive. However, this can be used in addition to calm the redness on your skin and relax the irritation on your face. Anyway, let’s get straight to the review!

Product Description:

This powerful oil-absorbing, healing and regenerating mask contains antiseptic Rosemary, Thyme and Lavender Essential Oils. These synergistically rebalance and purify the skin, making this the ideal mask for sallow, combination and teenage skins prone to spots and congestion.

My Experience with Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask:

I am really skeptical about products that are applied straight on my face, but since Elemis is a brand that I trust and have achieved great results previously with, I just went with the flow and decided to use it. The ingredients seemed pretty promising and relaxing to calm the irritation on my skin and convinced me to use this product. I don’t like using a lot of masks and clay on my skin, if they are not natural (Multani Mitti, being my preferred one), but with this one, I just went with my mum’s instinct and my faith in the brand.

It comes in a pristine, white-coloured simple tube, with a silver twistable cap on top. The packaging is really simple and classic and is not loaded with any gimmicks! The actual mask looks like your usual clay mask, it has rosemary, thyme and lavender essential oils within its formula. I am aware that lavender oils are supposed to be great for soothing flared up skin. I particularly enjoyed the smell of this mask, the fragrance was really lovely. Lavender oils seemed to overpower the most in the smell.  This seemed really calming and soothing to my senses, which was great since masks are supposed to bring about a feeling of pampering and indulgence. I applied the mask on cleansed face and let it dry for about 10-15 minutes.  It feels pretty stiff upon application and it is always recommended not to speak when you apply such masks on your face as that could result in the development of unwanted wrinkles! I simply wash the mask off with warm water once it has dried and pat my skin dry.

My skin felt really soft and supple after I washed the clay mask off, it also seems to have relaxed my skin and well as much as I would like to tell you girls that it reduces the redness drastically, I cannot. Because this is an overtime process and takes a while to reduce the redness. It does however relatively reduce redness on the first wash and does not make you look like the angry emoticon on Blackberry Messenger (I only joke). But yes, it is pretty effective in reducing the redness; however, you do need to be patient to eradicate the redness completely. I make use of the pack two times a day only when I face such issues. I try and refrain from using this in my daily skin care routine. Despite it leaving my skin soft, it removes oil from my face, and I strongly believe in balancing my skin’s moisture levels daily.

Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask

Pros of Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask:

  • Reduces redness effectively.
  • Did not break me out.
  • Leaves skin feeling soft and supple, probably due to the lavender oils present in the ingredients.
  • Easy to wash off with warm water.
  • Has a lovely fragrance to it.
  • Not messy upon application, since it comes out of the tube like a regular cream.

Cons of Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask:

  • I would not call this a con, however, it does take 2-3 applications to achieve completely redness-free skin.
  • Relatively expensive, more natural and inexpensive products of similar caliber could be used to achieve similar results.

Would I Repurchase Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask?

It is a great maintenance mask, and it did not break me out, therefore I don’t mind repurchasing it.
