Elemis Skin Buff Review

Elemis Skin Buff Review

Hello Ladies,

Today, I will be reviewing another Elemis product for you all. It is Elemis skin buff. It’s an exfoliator by the brand and slightly different from the Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator that I had reviewed earlier.

Elemis Skin Buff

Product Details:

Elemis Skin Buff is a successful exfoliator for all skin types. It revitalizes dull, lackluster skin by deep cleaning with Phytoplankton with a Shea Butter and Beeswax base. Skin Buff contains fine granules that buff away dead skin cells for more luminous, breathable skin. Laurel, Hops and calming Chamomile extracts sooth and enhance skin.

Price:

£27.50 for 50 ml.

My Experience with Elemis Skin Buff:

The packaging of this product is similar to other Elemis products. It is a simple and classic white tube with a silver screw top. Nothing much is written on the tube except Elemis and the product name. I have noticed that Elemis generally has only white or silver themed product packaging. And if you ask me, I consider this to be really classy and elegant.

The product itself is a thick and sort of lemon yellow/pastel yellow exfoliator that comes out of the tube once squeezed out. Now, if I compare this to the gentle rose exfoliator, there is a vast difference. The micro-beads are relatively large as compared to the rose exfoliator and you can definitely feel this on your face, whilst you gently scrub it. Therefore many people would prefer this over the hardly noticeable micro-beads. It is also relatively creamy compared to the gel-like consistency of the rose exfoliator. As for the fragrance, like all other Elemis products, this too also has a great smell. I would not say it smells fruity, it sort of smells fresh and rejuvenating. I particularly like the smell because I feel refreshed after I use this product. It’s not overpowering on your senses, in fact it’s pretty soothing, aromatic and relaxing, which is not a big shock as Elemis products are highly famous for their spa facial treatments.

As far as the effects on the skin goes, I am a huge fan of this product. It’s a great facial scrub that is superb at getting rid of dead skin cells. My skin feels lovely, completely smooth and it has actually helped me get rid of the tiny bumps on my forehead, which never seemed to go away despite all the super expensive products I used in the past. It makes my makeup go on much smoother than before and on the rare occasion that I apply foundation, it blends in much smoother.

However, you have to take a lot of care while you use this product, you can’t go crazy scrubbing as it might cause irritation otherwise. Hence I would not suggest you all to use it daily. This can be used just as a maintenance scrub, once a week or maybe twice if you really need it. People with sensitive skin like mine should only use it once a week and be extra careful, and I specify it again, “EXTRA careful” while using this product to avoid irritation or worse, breakouts. Be gentle while you scrub your skin, I understand that psychologically it’s more satisfying to scrub your skin with such products, but you should be extremely gentle with such exfoliators as the beads do their job.

Overall, I am pleased with this exfoliator, it has done a pretty great job on my skin so far along with the other Elemis products I have used to spruce up my skin care regime. Moreover, only a pea-sized amount of the product is really required and so the product goes a long way. It’s great for all skin types, but the sensitive skin types like me need to be a little careful.  I have not faced any sort of breakouts and in fact it leaves my skin smooth and moisturised, and does not strip the moisture off my skin, which is a surprise since all the scrubs I have used in the past have made my skin dry and flaky.

Pros of Elemis Skin Buff:

  • A great exfoliator for the face and can be used on the body as well, gets rid of dead skin cells, gives smoother and bump-free skin.
  • Has relatively large microbeads.
  • Moisturizing on the skin and does not strip the skin off its moisture.
  • Only a pea-sized amount is required for greater results.
  • Has a lovely fragrance which is soothing to the senses.
  • Perfect product to pamper your skin.
  • Leaves skin smooth, for a great base to apply makeup on.

Cons of Elemis Skin Buff:

  • Sensitive skin beauties will need to be careful while using this product, harsh application might irritate the skin.
  • Contains parabens.

Would I Repurchase Elemis Skin Buff?
