I am back with another ELF product review. Just like NYX, I love my ELF beauties.  I am more into corals and oranges these days, but I love my hot pinks as much.  So today, I am going to review a lovely hot pink lipstick from ELF Cosmetics called “Sociable.”

Ingredients:

Hydrogenated polyisobutene, Ozokerite, Polyisobutene, Bis-Diglyceril, Polyacyladipate-2, Mineral Oil, Caprylic Triglyceride, Polyethylene Wax, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Microcrystalline Wax (Cera Microcristallina), Methylparaben, Propylparaben, BHT, Tin Oxide, Mica. MAY CONTAIN (+/-): Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Red No. 40 Lake (CI 16035), Red No. 7 Lake (CI 15850), Red no. 27 Lake (CI 45410), Red Lake No. 6 (CI 15850), Blue No. 1 Lake (CI 42090), Yellow No. 5 Lake (CI 19140), Yellow No. 6 Lake (CI 15985).

My Take on ELF Essential Lipstick in Sociable:

Oh I can’t tell you how much I adore this color and lipstick.

Packaging:

This comes in a metallic grey case with transparent plastic at the centre from where you can see the lipstick color.  The lipstick doesn’t go back completely in the case and many a times while closing the cap, I accidentally spoil the lipstick.

Texture:

This lipstick is quite dry and gives a matte finish when worn. I usually apply this over lip balm. Although it is dry, it won’t settle in the fine lines of the lips. It doesn’t dry out my lips if I use a lip balm under this lipstick. It could be very drying if you have extremely dry lips.

Color:

ELF Essential Lipstick Sociable

It is an opaque hot pink lipstick. It has very fine shimmer particles. They look perfect on the lips and nothing that would look loud or tacky. This color will instantly brighten up your face.  I love the color to the bits!

Staying Power:

This is one lipstick with amazing staying power. It stays for around 10 plus hours on my lips with beverages and meals in between.  It does fade a bit after meals, but it fades evenly (I have used some lipsticks which after meals fade away from the centre of the lips and accumulate at the edges) and that looks really bad.

Fragrance:

Oh I love the fragrance. It is kind of fruity bubblegum fragrance. Not very strong though and fades away after a few minutes. So ladies, who do not like strong fragrances would be okay with this.

Summing it up:

  • Gorgeous hot pink color that would brighten up your face.
  • Great for pigmented lips.
  • Extremely long lasting (10 plus hours with meals in between).
  • It fades away evenly.
  • Inexpensive if bought outside India.
  • Matte finish.
  • Could be drying for those with extremely dry lips.
  • Shimmer particles are not loud or tacky.

Would I Buy ELF Essential Lipstick in Sociable Again?

Yes, without a doubt.

Do I Recommend ELF Essential Lipstick in Sociable?

Totally, its one must-have lipstick.

      hehehe Rati I love corals and oranges.. and I am still hunting for more..lol..there’s one orange from Chambor it looks gorgeous saw the swatches here only…I may consider picking that next.. This one is bright pink though.. 🙂

    1. Natasha my sister got it from US…some e.l.f products are avail on stylecraze but they are way too expensive for e.l.f.. I think I got this for somewhere between $1 -$3

  16. You girls are really convincing me to try out elf products now. I love this fresh shade on you Dipti! It looks quite pretty , and 10 plus hours of wear is pretty impressive. Do you use lipliner underneath it as well? I like that it’s slightly shimmery as well. Good review!

    1. hehehhe.. some of the e.l.f products are definitely worth trying Anjum.. and this lipstick has really impressed me.. me too like the shimmer part of it..

      Anjum I haven’t used any lip liner underneath this.. but I feel that using the lip liner would add some definition and make your pout look perffeccttt.. 😀
