ELF Essential Lipsticks in Fantasy & Classy
Hope all ijjjj well at your end.
Today’s review is yet again from the brand ELF and this one’s going to be about lippies.
I got three lippies from elf and these are from the elf essential (one dollar) range.
Hence the price – 1$ (app 55 INR)
I got these in the shades Fantasy, Classy and Charming.
I would be reviewing the first 2, that is , Fantasy and Classy as Charming had already been reviewed by Neha. You can check that out here https://makeupandbeauty.com/elf-lipstick-voodoo-and-charming-review-swatches/
So to tell you about the shades and textures of these lipsticks:
Fantasy is a very pretty brown color – a perfect n*de color for my complexion I would say. It is very matte in texture, averagely pigmented, soft and moisturizing in nature, and does not dry out lips. I really like this one for formal dos in office because like I said it’s a very nude color for my lips and is very decent for office wear and day time use. Has average staying power of about 2-3 hours without eating or drinking.
Classy on the other hand is a very bold and bright bubblegum pink. It is actually too bright for my wheatish skin as my face looks washed out if I wear this shade on my, lips. It is very glossy in texture unlike Fantasy and is super pigmented and creamy. I just use one single swipe of this and smudge it on my lips to just give a hint of pink on my lips else I would look all washed out with this pigmented color on. Below average staying power due to its creamy nature. This lippy bullet was broken when it got shipped to me and it has become very messy in the tube. 🙁
My Experience with e.l.f. Essential Lipsticks in Fantasy & Classy
That being said about the nature of those lippies, there are a couple of things that are of concern. Having spent just a dollar on these, I would not really ask for much but then packaging and the bullet life of a lipstick is what actually matters.
The packaging is kind of cheap and not very long lasting and the bullet has been fit in to the tube in such a way that the bullet-tip peeps out of the tube which always fears me that I would accidentally break the tip if I am closing the lid in a rush.
The bullets are also very delicate and they keep wobbling during application which makes me feel they would break any minute.
PROS of E.L.F. Essential Lipsticks:
1. Dirt cheap for a lipstick
2. Nice shades to choose from
3. Good quality for the price
4. Just-above average staying power
CONS of ELF Essential Lipsticks:
1. Cheap packaging
2. Not all shades would suit medium Indian skin tone
3. Lippy bullet not secured enough, always fearing the risk of breaking it
4. Packaging not sturdy enough.
Would I recommend this to a friend:
Yes!.. Because at a price of 1$, you can still try this out ignoring the cons. 🙂
