How are you doing ? I have reviewed ELF’s Hypershine gloss in the shade Berry Cherry a while back. I liked it a lot. After that, I wanted to try the darkest shade (as it looks on the website) they have in this line – Vixen, but it was always out of stock. During my recent ELF order, I saw this shade available and immediately ordered it. Let’s see if it was impressive.

My Take on ELF Hypershine Lip Gloss in Vixen:
It comes in a mess-free click pen package which I love. As we twist the bottom part, it makes that clicking sound and pushes the product through the applicator brush. For the first time, one needs to twist for at least 50-60 clicks to get the product out, which is a little annoying, but don’t worry, its just the first time.
As I have already mentioned, this was the darkest shade they had to offer in this line. The shade I had previously tried “Berry Cherry” was the second darkest and it turned out to be a sheer peachy nude. Though it was sheer, I liked the shine it gave and the lasting power of the shine. So, when I ordered this shade, I didn’t have much expectation about color pay off.
The color turned out to be a sheer red. No shimmer, no cream. Just glass like color as they claim. When I applied it, I was quite impressed. It looked super shiny and made my lips look juicy. It reduced the appearance of lines and made my lips look healthy and nice.
Though I have pigmented lips, it looks very nice on me. Though it would look nice if you top it up on some lipstick, I suggest you wear this on its own.
On me, the shine lasts even after a meal. It keeps my lips moisturized and looking healthy for the whole day. Also, it has a slight sweet taste to it and mild smell.
All I can say is that nothing can beat it for just a dollar 🙂 . Let’s see the pros and cons:
Pros of ELF Hypershine Lip Gloss in Vixen:
- Love the packaging.
- Love the shade.
- Love the glassy finish it gives.
- Not sticky at all.
- Keeps lips moisturized for a long time.
Cons of ELF Hypershine Lip Gloss in Vixen:
- Yes, it has parabens.
- Not easily available.
For just a dollar, nothing can beat this 🙂 I am happy with both the shades that I tried. If I re-purchase, it is going to be either of the shades, as the rest of the shades are sheerer than this.
Hope this review was helpful 🙂
