ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick – Maple Sugar Review
Are you preparing for the summer season or not? I know summer is going to rush in all its glory some day soon here, so I already did my summer wardrobe shopping, most of it being lawn dresses. This year, I have clearly improved upon my collection, both design and budget wise 😀 I just wish I could have done OOTD’s! Anyway, moving to today’s product, it’s the ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Maple Sugar.
Lip therapy is here. Intensive hydrating agents along with natural pigments leave lips with Long-lasting colour and moisture. This luscious liquid lipstick creates wearable colour that flatters a multitude of skin tones and looks. Available in 11 shades.

My Views on ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick – Maple Sugar:
The packaging claims that the color is long lasting, which hydrates and smoothes lips. I think the brand “Eyes Lips Face (ELF)” pays a lot of attention to packaging. The Luscious Liquid Lipstick not only comes in a card box packaging, also the twist-up pen packaging is a finicky idea. The pen has an applicator on top with tiny holes in a flower pattern to dispense the product. The application is really very effortless and expedient. Appropriate amount of product is dispensed during each application. The cap closes tightly, making it fit to carry around.
Texture: The liquid lipstick is just like a lip gloss in texture, without any sparkles and has a very smooth and moisturizing formula. In terms of hydration, I will give this thumb up, it’s better than any lip balm I have used so far.
Colour: Whenever I hoard upon lip glosses, I always want pink shades specifically. The sheer coverage they give, I want it to be pinkish and natural, but the pink shades in this range are out of stock around the year. Hence, I settled with this light brown shade which hardly shows up on me (I am not going to continue on about my pigmented lips in each and every post, I think it is understood by now :P).
Pigmentation and Finish: The pigmentation is not too impressive in this light brown shade. The coverage is sheer and it finishes with a lustrous finish. It smells exactly like mint candy; the moment you apply, it starts transferring a cooling effect to the lips which lasts for about 15 minutes. The heady scent actually vanishes in 2 minutes but the cooling effect keeps you reminding of it. I wonder why they have named it Maple Sugar instead of Mint Candy 😛
Staying Power: The lustrous shine stays for two hours with my continuous water intake because this is a daily wear type shade.
Pros of ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick – Maple Sugar:
- Light brown shade that isn’t very pretty, but good for daily wear and also good for teenagers.
- No shimmer.
- Glossy lustrous finish.
- Very hydrating.
- Moisturizing and smooth formula.
- Mint fragrance and cooling effect.
Cons of ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick – Maple Sugar:
- The shade actually does not look good on me.
- I dislike the cooling part.
- The mint fragrance might be a turn off for some of you.
2.5/5 (because of the shade; but as a product, I would have rated it 3.5/5).
Would I Recommend/Repurchase ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick – Maple Sugar?
Actually, I am not so impressed with this shade. I had to settle with brown though I wanted pink. So, I will try to grab a pink next time. As a lip gloss, it works very well, just be careful in picking up the shade, so that your bucks are well spent.
