ELF Mineral Blush in Peachy Review

ELF Mineral Blush in Peachy Review

Hi everyone,

I have so many products I can review, and now that I have time, I am trying to get it done quickly. So, my recent obsession has been blushes. I had hoarded a few over the months, and now I am getting to try them out finally. I usually keep flitting from product to product. Earlier I loved eye makeup, then I switched to lipsticks, and now my latest fascination is blushes. Okay, I still love lipstick but whatever! So today, I will review the ELF Mineral blush in the shade “Peachy.” I love ELF as a brand, and most of their products. Usually their products are really good quality and cost a fraction of the ones from other companies.

Product Description:

Create a subtle color definition to your cheeks that will add radiance and a glow, for a healthy look you can see. All our blushes are mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.

Directions:

Shake the Natural Mineral Blush back and forth to get excess powder loose into the tray. Gently glide over the powder with the blush brush to grab the powder, bring your brush to the cap to work in the powder to the brush, then tap off any excess. Sweep onto cheekbones to create the sheer color definition.

Price:

$5 for 0.12 oz. They also keep offering sales on their products, so you can get it for even less.

Ingredients:

Mica, Bismuth Oxychloride, Titanium Dioxide, Tocopheryl Acetate(Ve), Boron Nitride. May Contain: Iron Oxides(CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Ultramarine Blue(CI 77007).

Titanium Dioxide is a key ingredient because of its ability to provide sun protection to the skin. These powders are absorbed into the skin and help control the effects of oily skin, for a shine-free, matte glow that visibly smoothes the skin and refine its texture.

Packaging:

It comes in a packaging similar to that of Bare Minerals range, with a black cap, and transparent bottom. You can see the blush from outside. When you open it, there is a paper cover on the holes, which prevent the blush from getting into the tray.

My Take on ELF Mineral Blush in Peachy:

This blush comes in a loose powder form rather than a pressed form like other blushes, so it’s a tad more difficult to use than the other ones. But since most mineral products are like this, it is not a big downside. Although I saw that they even have a pressed form of the blush in their mineral range.

The blush itself is very finely milled and soft to touch. To apply, I take a little on the tray and use an angled brush. You can see that it has very fine golden shimmer particles visible, but when you apply it, the shimmer is not really visible, which is great.

The shade itself is a peachy pink, with brown undertones, like a terracotta sort of shade. It’s a really pretty, warm shade, and would suit all skin tones equally well. The golden shimmer complements the shade beautifully.

The pigmentation is decent, and you can build the color or apply with a light hand to let it stay sheer. On my face, it stays for about 4 hours, and then it fades away, without leaving behind any sort of shimmer. I don’t mind reapplying that much, although I find the wear-time a little less.  I don’t use primer or foundation though; just a BB cream, so I guess it will stay on better with primer. It blends easily, even when I used my fingers to blend it in. All in all, a really great product, and once again, this brand has impressed me!

Pros of ELF Mineral Blush in Peachy:

  • Very soft, finely-milled blush with smooth texture.
  • Warm, peachy shade which would suit all skin tones.
  • Pigmentation is decent, and buildable.
  • Easy to blend in, even with your fingers.
  • Mineral product, which is usually great for sensitive skin.
  • Soft golden shimmer, which isn’t visible too much.
  • No parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.
  • Great product for its price!

Cons of ELF Mineral Blush in Peachy:

  • Packaging is slightly inconvenient for a blush; awkward to travel with.
  • Lasting power is not great, somewhere around 4 hours.

IMBB Rating:

4.5/5

I really love this blush, and especially the peachy shade. It complements peachy and brown lipsticks perfectly. I love the texture and pigmentation, and also that a mineral product is so affordable. I will recommend this to everyone, and would buy again in some other shade, or try the pressed form of the mineral blushes.

Take care until next time!
