ELF Nail Polish Remover Pads & Nail Polish Review + Swatches

ELF Nail Polish Remover Pads & Nail Polish Review + Swatches

Hello everyone! This is my first post/review on IMBB! 😀 I was browsing through the reviews and noticed that there are only 2 reviews on ELF products. One thing about ELF’s products is that they are really hit or miss. Some products are truly terrible and can only be worth a dollar. However, other products are true gems – quite fabulous products, actually! I wanted to share my thoughts on one of their products, which I consider my HG (holy grail) nail products: ELF Nail Polish Remover Pads! ELF Nail Polish Remover PadsHere is what ELF has to say about them: These convenient pads quickly and easily remove nail polish without the mess associated with bottled remover. Citrus scent and gentle formula leave nails fresh and soft.

Ingredients: Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, Hexyl Alcohol, Isopropyl Alcohol (Image from www.eyeslipsface.in) I cannot agree more with the product description. These pads really do live up to their claims!

What I like about ELF Nail Polish Remover Pads:

  • Great price for 18 pads
  • I have been able to use 1 pad to remove nail polish off all 10 fingers
  • Does have a “fresh citrus scent,” not so chemically like most polish removers
  • Effectively removes polish quickly and easily
  • A few rubs or leaving the pad on nail for a bit easily removes the polish
  • No messy liquid to deal with
  • Leaves nails clean and looking nourished

What I didn’t like about ELF Nail Polish Remover Pads:

  • Can get your hands sticky after awhile. Just wash your hands after!

I also happen to LOVE ELF’s nail polishes. Although I buy my polishes from the ELF USA website (I live in Hawaii) and not all the shades are the same as available on the ELF India website, I find that all the ELF polishes I own are very, very good for only $1. The formulation, drying time, and lasting time are fabulous!

Here is what ELF has to say about them: This color-lock formula with chip resistant shield gives long lasting nail color with high shine. The aerodynamic bristle design glides color on flawlessly, while the quick dry formula gives perfect application every time. Key nutrients give nails that natural shine, infused with Vitamin E for stronger, healthier nails.

Ingredients: Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Nitrocellulose, Anhydride/Trimellitic Anhydride/Glycols Copolymer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891) Iron Oxides(CI 77491 , CI 77492 , CI 77499), Red No.6 Lake (CI 15850), Red No.27 Lake (CI 45410), Blue No.1 Lake (CI 42090) What I like about ELF Nail Paints:

  • Great price and quality
  • Variety of shades to choose from
  • Applies smoothly
  • Opaque color after usually 2 coats
  • Dries quickly
  • Smooth coverage
  • Glossy shine
  • Lasts on me at least a week without chipping

What I didn’t like about ELF Nail paints:

  • Sometimes the cap doesn’t screw on to be aligned with the bottle
  • The cap (the “handle” of the brush) is kind of short and since it’s square and wide; it’s not as easy to handle and maneuver as a thin, cylindrical shape cap like most nail polishes

So overall, I think these polishes are worth the price! The formulation is smooth and easy to apply; not too thick but not too liquid either. Drying time is relatively quick and I’ve had these polishes last on me at least a week before chipping. They are also quite shiny and glossy without a top coat (except for Blush and Moonlight).

I also noticed that when I am on the ELF India website and looking at the nail polish page, the image of the polish does not show up when you select the color you want. I’m not sure if it’s just me who can’t see them? But I wanted to show some pictures of what those polishes look like just in case they really aren’t showing up: Clear, White Clear WHite Nude, Light Pink

So, I hope this post was helpful and puts the ELF brand in a better light. 🙂 Again, ELF is VERY hit or miss but some of their products are really great! If anyone is interested in more ELF reviews, I will be more than happy to write them! I’ve tried many of ELF’s products from the $1 and Studio line that are also available on the ELF India website!

  1. Hey Erynn,

    Welcome to IMBB. 🙂

I have not used ELF products (except an e/s brush) mainly because of low availability of them here in India. But we do have option to pick up stuff from the website. Will definitey take a look at the nail paints.

Liking the mango madness and desert haze a lot. I have to pick up a few nude shades. Brights are ruling my collection. 😛

You seem to be very fond of nail paints though. 🙂

  2. Wow…desert haze and mango madness look fabulous…I can never make my nails grow that long though 🙁 I have never tried ELF nail polishes…have tried a couple of their brushes…wil give this one a shot 🙂 Nice review 🙂

  3. Hi Erynn!
I use ELF’s eyebrow kit and their blending brush (the $1 one!) everyday!
I actually bought their nail polish in royal purple a while ago, but haven’t tried it yet.
Thanks for the review and swatches, I’ll be picking up Mint Cream, Lilac and one of the pinks soon!
