ELF Plumping Lip Glaze in Ruby Kiss Review

Hello Ladies,

These days, I am using quite a few ELF products.  ELF actually stands for “eyes lips face ” just in case you didn’t know. I didn’t know that until I checked their website a few months ago.  Okay, so today, I am going to talk about ELF Plumping Lip Glaze Ruby Kiss, which comes with a minty fragrance and gives imparts a tingling sensation.  Nandini are you listening, you would love the fragrance and the feel of this as you love everything that is minty 😛

My Take on ELF Plumping Lip Glaze in Ruby Kiss:

This is my first plumping lip glaze, so I can’t really compare it with other plumping lip gloss/glaze available in the market.

Texture:

Both the clear and the tinted glazes have thick consistency. Since it is thick, it would not glide on your lips quickly. It gives a tingling sensation and a minty fragrance which is quite strong initially. The minty fragrance lingers for quite some time. I am not too fond of minty fragrance, but I quite like this one.

It it quite sticky.  It irritates me like anything when I leave my hair open and the hair strands fly and stick to the lips because of the sticky lip gloss/glaze. This is exactly what happens when I wear this lip glaze. 🙁

Color:

The color is not very opaque, so I would say average pigmentation. One would have to dip the wand thrice for full coverage.  When applied over the clear glaze, it would definitely plump up your lips and make them look fuller, but then, the color tends to look a little more sheer as compared to when worn on its own.

If you wear the color on its own, the color does show up quite well, but the lips don’t look as full as compared to when applied over the clear glaze.

Staying Power:

It stays for about 2 hours after which the color fades away, but it doesn’t bare out the lips. It still looks glazed.  Although, it won’t survive meals, it would definitely survive 1 or 2 drinks. The color would fade away if you have snacks, but they would still look glazed.

Summing it up:

  • Okay, I quite like this because it is very affordable and does work quite well if your lips are not overly pigmented and adds some amount of plump.
  • The quantity is less, I think I would finish this within 10 days if I apply this every day, but then, how much more would you get for $ 1 🙂
  • It is sticky.
  • It is quite moisturizing and my lips feel soft and hydrated for quite some time after the lip glaze fades away completely.
  • A good product if you want to add some amount of plump to your lips. Otherwise, you can give this a pass.

IMBB Rating:

Average.

Will I Buy ELF Plumping Lip Glaze in Ruby Kiss Again?

No, I would prefer paying more and getting a lip glaze/ gloss with sufficient quantity and a separate lip plumper.
