I was on the lookout for a good face mask applicator. Till now I have used fingers for this purpose and that is not a very pleasant way to do that because that method is very messy and leads to wastage of product. Silicon brushes or spatulas are good tools for face mask application and the one in this review is well-made and affordable.

My Experience with ELF Pore Refining Face Brush and Mask Tool:
This brush has a white stem with a silicon spatula on one end and a brush with a flat top on the other end. The silicone spatula is green in color and has a leaf-like shape. It is flattened and is a mini version of the spatulas we use to scrap off cake batter from the food processor jar.
The advantage of using this spatula instead of fingers to apply face mask is that it keeps the process mess-free and sanitary. I prefer dipping a clean spatula in the face mask jar than my fingers. This spatula also prevents product wastage. It helps spread a thin, even layer of product on the face and its flexibility helps to apply the product on and around the nose.
Our skin does not have the capacity to absorb a thick layer of the product or a large number of nutrients in one go so it is better to spread an even, thin layer for efficient use of the product and avoid wastage. I found this spatula particularly useful while applying bleach on my face.
It helped me pick up a thin layer and its thin edge helped me apply it only in the desired area and not accidentally bleach the wrong area. The silicone spatula is easy to clean, easy to store and dries easily. The brush on the other end was a bit of an enigma for me and I am not sure what is its purpose, especially since its size is so small.
The description says that the pore refining brush helps to gently remove dirt and grease from pores, but because of its size, it would take forever to cleanse the entire face and I would not use this brush for that purpose.
The description also says that the spatula can also be used to apply foundation and the pore refining brush can be used for blending color to create a flawless finish. I do not think this brush can double up as a foundation brush and this is a misleading description.
