ELF Studio Angled Eyeliner Brush Review

ELF Studio Angled Eyeliner Brush Review

Hey there!

Audrey Hepburn’s eye makeup in Breakfast at Tiffany’s always left me awestruck. The perfect cat’s eye, made shivers run down my spine, in sheer and utter rapture. It’s perfection at its best! This was what made me try my hand at liquid liners, leaving behind my trusty pencil liners, but due to my perpetually shaky hands, I am yet to master the art of applying liquid liner. *sighs* Oh well! I came across a brush that could potentially make flawless application of gel/liquid eyeliner a simple concept. Although it was an intriguing observation, I was more than a little skeptic and decided to find an affordable alternative. The brush I am now going to review checks all my flawless application boxes and is affordable to boot!

Product Description:

This new anti-bacterial, synthetic-haired Taklon brush is softer and more absorbent and can be used with wet or dry products. Be a professional makeup artist and create a flawless look with this ELF Studio brush! This thin pointed brush creates even and accurate color application in one fluid movement. The perfect angled tip of the brush provides exact placement for concentrated color right up to the lash line. Use to apply eyeliner for perfect color application.  Use with any eyeliner to apply a thin line of color directly to the lash line.

Packaging:

The brush comes in a plastic pouch that has a tucked in flap. This pouch helps keep the brush bristles in place while travelling, making a separate brush holder redundant. It also has a tiny plastic holder to keep the delicate angled bristles in place, which is a very thoughtful addition to the packaging. This travel proofs the brush brilliantly well. All information regarding this brush is printed on a silver sheet and tucked into the pouch. Despite being incredibly informative, one can remove it to reduce the space taken up by the packaging.

My Take on ELF Studio Angled Eyeliner Brush:

This brush adds to the long list of ELF products that I am absolutely and utterly in love with. This is now an indispensible part of makeup routine due to its flawless application that leaves me spellbound. As I have stated before, I have the shaky hands of a 60 year old, but I absolutely adore the cat’s eye; this along with a subtle red lip is my go-to makeup look that suits me to a ‘T’. This angled brush along with the ELF Cream Eyeliner gives me the most crisp and flawless wing that lasts for well over 6 hours.

I don’t think I can go back to the days of stretching out my eyelid and using the Colossal Kajal on my upper eyelid for a semblance of a cat’s eye. This brush has made it impossible for me to look back at those days without cringing. The bristles don’t absorb any excess product and prevent wastage of product.

The brush is made of Taklon, a synthetic material that is anti-bacterial which is a huge plus because most brushes are practically a breeding ground for all kinds of germs. The matte black handle of the brush gives it a very polished look, at par with most high-end brands.

If anything, the only minute flaw in this brush is it’s slightly problematic cleaning. You need to clean this brush after every application otherwise the product dries up in the bristles making it unusable. Since the bristles are so minute, you need to pay special attention to excess water. It shouldn’t creep into the ferrule, as it can spoil your brush. On the flip side, unlike dense brushes like the Kabuki, the drying time for this brush is a few minutes at most.

The writing on the brush isn’t engraved but only painted on, which can fade over time, but honestly, there aren’t any glaring flaws in this product. So, nothing should stop you from snapping up this affordable and useful brush as soon as you possibly can!

  • The packaging allows easy portability of the brush.
  • Doesn’t shed at all.
  • Soft Taklon bristles.

  • Foolproof application of various eyeliner shapes, especially the cat’s eye.
  • Brush doesn’t absorb a lot of excess product.

Cons of ELF Studio Angled Eyeliner Brush:

  • Writing on the brush isn’t engraved and can fade.
  • Cleaning is a bit problematic.
