ELF Studio Blush Brush Review

Hello fellow IMBBians!!!

This post is about yet another ELF face brush that I recently purchased to help me master the art of contouring my face.  Honestly, I don’t have time to do it on that regular basis and second, my face is too small and round to work with, but these factors do not deter me from buying tools of trade and this brush is the most recent addition to my humble vanity in the hopes that it will make contouring easier for me.

My Take on ELF Studio Blush Brush:

I have several blush brushes, but do not have a dedicated contouring brush, hence I bought this one because it is tapered and fluffy, something like Real Techniques Contouring Brush.

It might just be a $3 brush, but it sure does not look like one – it has a very classy and expensive finish. It is all black with black bristles; they are packed in a steel holder, which is then attached to a plastic holder. On the plastic holder, ELF Blush brush words are written in white.

Brush bristles quality, they are synthetic bristles and are super soft and fluffy, like those expensive brushes.

It does a decent job at slathering product on the face because of tapered finish, but it is not as fluffy as the small tapered brush, hence is not as good at blending a powder product.  If I talk about the density, it’s very dense but not fluffy enough to making blending easier.

It’s easy to clean and dry (just put in upright position to drain out all the water) and it does not shed as most of the cheap brushes are expected to do.

It is good for contouring and highlighting. The tapered part of the brush allows for very precise color application, and then it gets wider so the product can be blended out. It’s great for dark contouring, sweeping highlight along the cheekbones, and it can also be used for blush as well. One can pick up a little amount of product at a time and blend and continue this process until one achieves the desired look. It is good for people like me who have small face and find it hard to contour their face. I also use it to apply powder under my eyes to prevent kajal from smudging and prevent my concealer from creasing, but like I mentioned earlier – it is not as good as small tapered brush.

Pros of ELF Studio Blush Brush:

  • Travel-friendly packaging, easy to store.
  • Easy to wash and dry.
  • Soft synthetic bristles.
  • Does not shed.
  • Good for conturing, highlighting, blush application and applying powder under eyes and other hard to reach areas.
  • Affordable.
  • Tapered part helps in precise application of product.
  • Can be used to blend concealer or cream blushes.

Cons of ELF Studio Blush Brush:

  • When you wash it for the first time, the brush dye would fade away slightly, but this happens only the first time.
  • Not fluffy enough for good blending.

Would I Repurchase ELF Studio Blush Brush?
No, it would last me for a while and I like to try out new products every time. I don’t recommend it to my readers because ELF Small Tapered Brush does a better job at product application and blending.
