Like every other teen, the first “cosmetic” that I ever used was a lip gloss. From then on, my love for makeup has only grown. But lip gloss will always be my first love. Sure, it has inherent flaws like being a magnet for hair and wearing off pretty fast but nothing makes your lips look full and kissable like a gloss does.

One of the main problems with all glosses is stickiness. I am constantly on the lookout for glosses that aren’t sticky and are long lasting. In my quest I have tried quite a few products. The product I am now going to review is one such product.

Packaging:

The lip gloss comes in a squeeze-y tube with a slanted tip for ease of application. The tube is clear so you can see exactly how much product is left and when to replace the gloss. The slanted tip helps in even application, even if it may be a tad too unhygienic. The lid is a screw-able one, and hence is fairly travel safe. The packaging is made out of plastic, so it’s fall safe too.

My take on ELF Super Glossy Lip Shine Watermelon:

Honestly, this is the first time in my life where I am undecided on a product. All I felt like saying was- “Meh!!”

It’s not a bad product but isn’t good either, it’s just average. It’s only a dollar so no matter whether you like the product or not, you aren’t wasting too much. The colour I have is pretty adorable, a bubble gum pink that is pretty pigmented for a gloss.It also has SPF 15, which is pretty important for lip products. It is less sticky than most glosses, but the problem is that it’s not long lasting. A mere hour is all it stays for and even then it settles into fine lines and just feels icky. It also tastes really odd, like a medicine for the poor unfortunate souls who may sometimes lick their lips. It feels very dry on my lips, almost like it’s soaking up the almost non-existent moisture from them.

So on the whole, I am on the fence on this one. It’s just a dollar, give it a shot and see if you like the product or try something else from their range. You never know, this could be your HG gloss. But for me, it’s a miss.

3. Some may feel that the packaging is unhygienic
4. Tastes ghastly, if you accidently lick your lips
5. Makes lips feel dry
6. Settles into fine lines

Would I repurchase ELF SuperGlossy Lip Shine Watermelon?

Meh! I’ll go for something better, nothing too great about this product.

Would I recommend ELF SuperGlossy Lip Shine Watermelon to friends?
