Greetings fellow IMBBians,
I bought this primer from ELF cosmetics because a blogger who covers drugstore brands had given it a good review. Read on further to know my opinion on ELF Tone Adjusting Face Primer.

My Take on ELF Tone Adjusting Face Primer – Brightening Lavender:
Why one needs primer – it reduces the appearance of fine lines, covers large open pores, acts as a smooth base to apply makeup, ensures makeup lasts longer, keeps face shine free.
I don’t not have fine lines yet nor do I have nasty blackheads or pimples that could leave craters on my face; however, my face does get greasy and shiny as the day progresses and my face appears grimy and this whole problem gets exacerbated in summer. Since this product is good at shine control and makes makeup last longer, I decided to purchase this product.
Packaging: This product comes in a translucent, matte, plastic bottle with a pump dispenser and a clear cap on top. I like the packaging – it’s hygienic, easy to store and carry around, and dispenses just a dollop of product every time.
Texture: The primer as a drop looks like purple-lavender moisture goop, however, it is easy to blend compared to a moisturizer because it contains silica and it gives a smooth finish. After blending, the face appears smooth and shine-free and acts as a good canvas for makeup application.
Efficacy: I didn’t notice any dramatic reduction in my pores or fine lines, but again, I don’t have either of them in an obvious manner that I would notice any such effect. However, I do have strong yellow undertones and I did notice slight neutralization of yellow. The key ingredient of a primer is silicone and that’s what gives the instant albeit artificial smoothness to the skin and application of makeup easier, especially heavy coverage, and with cream makeup which applies like a cake and is a bit hard to blend.
My foundation tends to crease around my mouth and nose which is apparent on close inspection, but with this primer underneath, creasing gets reduced to a large extent and my makeup gave better wear time, and this primer also kept my face shine free for a long duration.
Staying Power: My face was shine-free for 8-10 hours and also there was less visible creasing and cracking of makeup. This primer increased the wear time of my makeup in general and products such as my blush and bronzer stay put for longer duration.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend ELF Tone Adjusting Face Primer – Brightening Lavender?
Yes, unless I want to spend more money and buy a more expensive primer. Readers do consider buying this product or try out the Maybelline Face Studio Primer, both are good primers among drug store brands.
