ELIZABETH ARDEN 5TH AVENUE REVIEW1

Perfumes are a must-have in any woman’s vanity. A good fragrance uplifts the mood and enhances our persona. Wearing a nice perfume creates a good impression and also boosts our confidence, but the tricky part is choosing a perfume that suits one’s personality and tastes. Also, as perfumes smell different on all people, it is hard to pick a perfume by simply seeing someone else using it.

One should try on a perfume and wait for a while to experience its true aroma and to understand if it lasts long on their body or not.

I’m a ‘fragrance crazy’ girl, be it EDP, EDT, solid perfume, body sprays and what not. I love to carry a tiny perfume around, so I can spritz it on whenever I need to feel good. Trust me, it works! On one of those ugly days or bad hair days or zit days (I’m sure we all have one of these days now and then), a tad bit of your favourite scent makes you feel better instantly and when we feel good, we tend to look better too.

Today, I’m reviewing this classic perfume, which is my favourite these days. It is Elizabeth Arden’s 5th Avenue.

ELIZABETH ARDEN 5TH AVENUE REVIEW

About the Brand:

Elizabeth Arden

A legendary innovator and a tireless entrepreneur, Miss Elizabeth Arden established the American beauty industry a century ago. Born Florence Nightingale Graham, she traveled from rural Canada to New York City, where she opened the first Red Door salon on Fifth Avenue in 1910.

About the Perfume:

So that is how the name “5th Avenue” has come up. It was launched in 1996. This scent was created by Ann Gotlieb. It is an EDP (Eau de Parfum), which means it is quite long lasting.

The Key Notes are:

Top notes: Lilac, Linden Blossom, Dewy Magnolia, Muguet, Exotic Mandarin & Bergamot.
Middle notes: Rare Rose Bulgarian, Violet, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine, Indian Tuberose, Peach, Clove & Nutmeg.
Base Notes: Amber, Tibetan Musk, Sandalwood, Iris & Vanilla,

If I try to personify this perfume, it would be a woman who is self-confident, has a strong (even overpowering) personality, is very successful on the career-front and elegance is her last name, yet she is subtle and minimal in her own way.

I personally think that this perfume is a night scent, it might be too strong for the day time. As far as its lasting power is concerned, from my experience, it stays on for more than 4 hours. After that, it fades away gradually, but some of the aroma lingers on.

Price:

It costs around Rs.1,200/- for 30 ml, but you can get it cheaper online.

My Rating:

4.5/5 (It is one of the best perfumes I have used but still not THE BEST like Dior & Nina Ricci).

Will I Repurchase Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue:

No, I don’t think so because perfumes last a long time, so once I finish this one, I would like to try something else.
