Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lipstick – Petal Review

Hello everyone!
My most used lipsticks are from the pink color family. Elizabeth Arden makes some high quality, classy products but I wonder why this brand is so under rated. I have loved their each and every product so far, lipsticks, lip glosses, eye shadows, foundation, perfumes and skin care too. For now, let’s read about the shade Petal from the Ceramide Ultra Lipstick range.

My Experience with Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lipstick – Petal:

The classy, metallic packaging is based on the signature Elizabeth Arden Red Door theme. This iconic and metallic packaging symbolises class and quality here. The lipstick has some weight due to metallic case but it is travel friendly because the cap closes tight. I love the packaging and it is always a bliss to apply this beautiful lipstick from a classy case.

Starting with the range, Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lipstick range comprises 32 brilliant shades.
The shade Petal is a medium intensity Barbie pink shade. The shimmer particles are not visible yet it settles with a shiny, lustrous finish but not frosty or awkwardly over the top. It is a beautiful shade and will suit a wide group of complexions.

The overall formula is moisturising. If I compare this to the shade Vintage Red, this is more towards balmy formula with soft and gliding texture. It is extremely soothing and nourishing for lips. When my lips are dry, this lipstick makes me feel comfortable throughout the day but requires reapplications. The formula is balmy, not creamy with sheer coverage. This brings in troubles for pigmented lips. Also, no doubt the pigmentation is good but being a sheer lipstick, I need a couple of swipes to build color on lips. It has no taste and no fragrance. The lipstick stays in place without feathering or settling into fine lines of lips. It may enhance dry patches on parched lips.

The longevity is not too impressive because of the velvety and balmy texture. It won’t ever last a meal; regular water/tea intake makes it fade and reapplication is definitely required after a mid-day snack. On average, I noticed a 3-4 hour wearing time. But reapplication is easy and doesn’t even require a mirror.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lipstick – Petal?
This is a very common and dupe able shade so I won’t repurchase it, but I loved the formula, so definitely a yes for recommendation!

  1. Thanks Sumera,

This review is indeed helpful, I was always tempted to buy this lippies, but was always given a wrong impression that they tend to make lips dry and patchy. I have sensitive lips which tend to dry easily… So did want to pick one more lips which may not suit me. Any advise….Regards Jenifer????

    1. Hi Jeniffer, you can definitely pick up one from this range, they are really hydrating. Also, MAC amplified creme is very moisturizing range, take a look at the large array of shades.
