Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Nourishing Lip Balm Review

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Nourishing Lip Balm

Hello beauties,

Hope you all are doing good? Many of us suffer from dry and chapped lips, I also belong in that category. Ever since I was a kid, I have suffered from all sorts of dry skin issues and dry lips too come as part of those problems. In my younger days it was Vaseline that took care of all these issues, now there are a list of products claiming to do wonders for each and every concern of different parts of your body. So when it comes to lips, there are innumerable lip balms available now. Some do a pretty bang job of keeping my lips moisturized for a certain period of time, while the others suck out the moisture from my lips rather than keeping it hydrated. Today I am here to review a lip balm that really makes a difference in my lip texture and stand true to their claims. So hop along and enjoy the review.

My take on the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Nourishing Lip Balm

The lip balm comes in a simple white outer cover with black prints, there is also a leaflet inside that provides information regarding the product and all other products coming under the ‘Eight Hour Cream’ range. The balm comes in a white squeezable tube with a slant-tip nozzle applicator and the product comes out in a very controlled manner, there is no mess whatsoever.

It is a light peachy amber coloured balm with a thick and creamy consistency. The balm is very smooth in texture and can be applied easily with the applicator.. Even though it is thick, it is very easy to apply, a little product is enough to cover the whole lips. The balm looks like a milky peach colour and I surely expected a milky film on my lips, but to my surprise it clearly transformed on my lips to a nice gloss-like finish. The thick milky balm turned to a light-weight, moisture-filled glossy balm, it felt too good on my lips.

I usually apply this balm at night and don’t usually let anything near my lips , but when my little one gave a sweet kiss, I couldn’t resist, I gave her a kiss back and suddenly there was a cooling sensation on my lips which I have never felt with other lip balms. However dry your lips are, it gives instant hydration and moisturization without giving a heavy balmy like feeling. If you apply the balm moderately on your lips, it remains on your lips even in the morning with a dewy-like finish. I also applied it lightly on my lips to see how it performs and by morning it was fully absorbed and my lips were soft and supple. On certain days I don’t feel the need to apply a balm till evening but very rare days I feel a slight dryness by noon.

It also helped in healing my lips, I had a dry sore along the corners of my lips and by next morning it was completely gone. This lip balm also has SPF 20 which is also quite rare in lip balms. The added sun protection factor is also a big bonus, along with protecting lips from dryness and flakiness it also gives protection from harmful UVA and UVB rays.

This lip balm also has a totally different aspect to it, I use this as a lip gloss on top of lip liners. It gives a very luscious looking pout without being milky or sticky in any way. Hence this one is currently my HG lip balm come gloss.

In the LOTD have worn it plainly and on top of a lip liner

Cons of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Nourishing Lip Balm

It is quite pricey for a lip balm, at least a little more quantity would have been appropriate.

IMBB rating:

4.5/5 (-.5 for the price). I hope this last me for a month or two. I would recommend this lip balm to all beauties who suffer from dry, chapped and sore lips. It can be used as a night time balm, so that you can use it for a longer period and make it worth the money.

Would I repurchase Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Nourishing Lip Balm?

Yes, definitely I would purchase this and I also would like to try their Skin Protectant cream which has multi-purpose uses and the quantity is also appropriate.
