Skin Tone- Medium, NC42, warm undertones
I fell in love with the lipstick shade “Beauty,” from Elizabeth Arden with the first application itself and since the formulation of this “Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick” is so nice, I could not resist picking up one more color from the same range; it’s a gorgeous shade called “Fig.”
Beautiful Color fuses with care. Lush, luxurious color that lasts for 12 hours. Keep lips moisturized all day with a single swipe of long-lasting, high pigment color that’s comfortable to wear and sumptuously soft.
My Experience with Elizabeth Arden Fig #38 Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick:
The packaging is so luxurious and classy that I did not want to use it at all. It is like adding a showpiece to the vanity. The outer paper carton has all the information about the product. The base of the lipstick has the shade name and number, but sadly, it is not color coded. If you have more than one from the range, you have to remember the name and the corresponding shade. The bullet comes with the logo of Elizabeth Arden embossed on it. Cutting the long story short, the lipstick looks luxurious!
The texture is superb; it is moisturizing, it is creamy, it is hydrating but not gooey. It glides on the lips like butter and it is so pigmented that one swipe deposits enough color to cover pigmented lips. It applies like a buttery soft lip color, but after 10-15 minutes, the color settles as a moist matte shade. I love how comfortable the color feels on the lips. Unlike most creamy lipsticks, this does not bleed and hence lip liner is totally optional. There is a mild fragrance to the lipstick which stays on for 10-15 minutes before vanishing.
The shade “Fig” is an absolute favorite of mine. It is more wearable compared to “Beauty” and that is why this scores a bit more than the latter. It is a mix of pink and berry shades, which looks amazing, both with and without makeup. The only thing I want to pinpoint is that this lipstick looks slightly different on the lips and on the swatch. The ‘pink’ comes out a bit more on the lips.
I love how it defines and brightens up the face. Due to the creamy and glossy texture, it is rather forgiving on dry lips. I can totally skip applying lip balm as this lipstick is very hydrating on the lips.
Coming to the staying power, I was expecting it to stay for 4-5 hours maximum as the texture is creamy and as we all know creamy lipsticks tend to transfer and fade away faster compared to matte lip colors, but this one pleasantly surprised me by staying on the lips for more than 7 hours.
There was a bit of fading due to food and tea/coffee/water breaks, but it did not vanish. I am so impressed with this “Beautiful Color Moisturizing” range that I can now understand what the hype is all about. If you want to pamper yourself with a bit of luxury makeup, do not forget to check out this range.
