Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Lavender EDT Review

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Lavender EDT

Hello lovely IMBBians!!

How are you all doing today? The product I would be reviewing today is “Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Lavender EDT”. This is definitely a little different from the kind of fragrances I generally choose (i.e. floral, fruity, mild, long lasting). Being a true fragrance lover, I like to try fragrances that are a bit offbeat as well. Let’s see how this EDT worked for me.

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea LavenderEDT

Product Description: Fragrance Mood: Calming. Relaxing. Optmistic. Green Tea Lavender creates a new, unique fragrance experience by adding a sense of calm to the refreshing and reinvigorating scent of Green Tea. The combination of soothing aroma of lavender and the lush freshness of green tea leaves transports you to a unique state of peace and optimism.

Price: Got it during a sale for USD 12 (100 ml). In India, it is available for approximately INR 2000.

My take on Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Lavender EDT:

Honestly, the reason I bought this fragrance was the price!! It was a steal!! 100ml of an Elizabeth Arden fragrance for just $12!! It was a sale and a tester was not available. But I had used the simple Green Tea EDT, and had totally loved it! I thought that the touch of lavender might just be an added bonus. Well…. Not a very good idea. But first, let me talk about the packaging.

It comes in a pretty lavender colored carton, with a design of cute lavender flowers and the signature green tea leaf design that all fragrances from the Green Tea range have. The box is sturdy. The bottle is quite simple though. Just a plain lavender colored thick glass bottle. The design could have been prettier. The bottle is very sturdy and travel friendly.

As per the website, the top notes are meyer lemon, Sicilian mandarin, spearmint, wild chamomile. What I felt was this huge burst of lemony, citrusy fragrance with a very prominent smell of green tea. It feels too strong for the first 2-3 minutes. It has a very summery, fresh, hopeful kind of feel to it! It is not a very girly kind of fragrance.

The middle notes are Green Tea, Oolong Tea, Organic Lavender Bulgarian Orpur, French Lavender Absolute Orpur, Chinese Magnolia.

What I could smell was just green tea and citrus, with a very slight hint of lavender!! I had expected (and basically, wanted) this fragrance to have a little more of lavender, as the name suggests so. I wanted to get that feeling of walking in huge lavender fields and feeling calm and relaxed! But, the notes don’t seem too balanced. The green tea and citrus is way too strong and the lavender in this fragrance can barely be felt. Consequently, this EDT often ends up giving me an instant headache!! As we know, the exact smell and longevity of a fragrance differs from person to person. My friend loves this fragrance and it has never caused her any headache ever. This also smells a little different on her.

The base notes are soft skin musks, birchwood, ambrette seed. Somehow, I find these notes a bit floral, and slightly musky. These are the most soothing, calming ones!! In most fragrances, I can actually notice the subtle transition from top to middle to base notes. With this fragrance, the basic smell remains constant; just the intensity of the initial notes subsides. This lasts for a good 6 hours or so.

Pros of Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Lavender EDT:

• Totally inexpensive
• Cute outer packaging
• Fresh summery fragrance
• Long lasting

Cons of Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Lavender EDT:

• Bottle is dull, boring
• Pretty strong (gives me a headache)

IMBB Rating: 3/5

Verdict: The fragrance is really nice and fresh. But as this gives me a headache, I generally don’t use this. But my friends totally love this fragrance and in fact, do not find it very strong. So, I would suggest that try using a tester first and check if this EDT suits you. This might just be the fragrance for you if you love strong and very citrusy fragrances!!!
