So, after the newspaper basket, I bring you a review. You thought it was another DIY? Good. You are right. My next post would be a homemade but ready-to-use facial scrub, but today, please hear me out as I write a review on a metallic pencil from Elizabeth Arden. I got this online, don’t remember when and from where. It has been lying with me uselessly since a long time and I just realized it that it has not been reviewed on IMBB, so decided to write about it.
This gorgeous lip pencil glides on smoothly leaving an intense metallic shimmer colour that definitely stands out from the rest.
Approximately 3 GBP – I bought it for this price. Though its original price is around 7 GBP.
My Take on Elizabeth Arden Metallic Lip Pencil – Pink Bikini:
I cannot really say if I like it or not. I love the product as such except a few things, but I am not too happy with the color. Since I bought it online, I could not try the color, else I would not have bought it in the first place. It is a subtle, light fuchsia kind of baby pink color. You can see the swatch. I don’t know what this pink color is called. Here are the swatches in different lights.
This is like a jumbo lip pencil that I believe will last for years for anyone. It has very minute shimmery, glittery particles and that is the first thing I don’t like about it. It leaves those particles on the lips and while they give a nice shimmer to lips, I hate when they show elsewhere on the face or even on the corners or the outline of the lips.
The color is a pretty shade though it does not suit me. I am wheatish/dusky and this shade makes me look pale but I am sure many beauties here would rock it! It stays for about 2-3 hours, but hey, it is highly moisturising. I was complaining to Rati the other day that I have got bad lips since the last 3-4 days. I think some lipstick caused allergy to me and today I applied this lipstick and I have not applied any balm yet. My lips feel good and soft. So, that is a HUGE plus and yeah it DOES NOT bleed, smudge or feel waxy at all.
I love it otherwise, but since, I can’t use it on the lips directly as it makes my face pale, I mix it with another dark pink color that I have and it usually works. Overall, a nice product and I would recommend it to people who want this shade.
Pros of Elizabeth Arden Metallic Lip Pencil – Pink Bikini:
- Pretty pink shade.
- Glides on easily.
- Comes in a pencil form, so easy to handle.
- Gives a nice shimmer to the lips.
- Heavily moisturizing without being waxy, heavy, greasy or what not.
Cons of Elizabeth Arden Metallic Lip Pencil – Pink Bikini:
- This shade might not suit everyone.
- I personally don’t like the shimmer particles.
- Limited availability.
4/5 (1 mark less for the shimmers and the shade that does not suit me).
