My Experience with Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick – Cupid Pink:

I have used many shades from this range and my favourite one is a n*de peachy shade “Cinnamon Bun.” The thing that really attracts me to these cuties is the price and the wide shade selection. Let us see whether “Cupid Pink” made me happy or sad!!

Packaging:  It is pretty average actually; simple black-colored packaging, with the signature picture of the girl on it (something that all Elle 18 products have in common). I find it quite cute! The cap snaps shut and is pretty travel friendly. However, the color crayon is a bit flimsy and keeps moving a bit when I try to apply the lipstick. It might break if too much pressure is applied. The shade name and number have been mentioned at the bottom of the bullet.

Color:  This is highly pigmented! The color is a beautiful rosy pink shade that instantly brightens the face with a nice pop of color. In the tube, it looks a bit mild peachy as well. However, when swatched (on hand and lips), it definitely looks rosy pink (not peachy, orangey, coral). It is a very buildable shade. 1-2 swipes would make it good enough for everyday use, while 3-4 swipes make it look like a good bright pink that can be worn for parties and other functions as well.  It settles to a semi-matte finish and can cover any kind of pigmentation on the lips. Thankfully, it does not have any shimmer in it! Other than people with really dusky skin tones, this color should suit all.

Fragrance:  The smell! Well, I won’t say it disturbs me too much, but I am not too fond of it either. It has a “bubblegummy” smell which lasts throughout the wear time (though the intensity reduces a bit). People with sensitive noses might have a huge problem with this!

Texture:  The texture is really smooth and balmy. It isn’t the creamiest lipstick that I have used, but it glides on well and I don’t have to tug and pull during application. I generally don’t really require a lip balm underneath this, except when the weather a bit unforgiving. According to me, no lip balm would be required underneath this if lips are well exfoliated. On dry or non-prepped lips, the color might settle into the fine lines and accentuate the flakiness of the skin.

Staying Power:  It lasts on me for about 3-4 hours without meals and with just sips of a drink or water. It doesn’t really survive a meal and reapplication becomes a must. However, I don’t really mind reapplying since it is so pocket friendly!! Even after the color wears off, I can notice a very mild tint on my lips.  It fades evenly, does not bleed, and does not settle into fines lines (except when applied on dry, chapped lips).

Verdict:

It is a gorgeous shade and definitely worth trying. For INR 120, this is a good product and I can’t complain a lot! Also, if you are eyeing any such shade in a high-end brand, you could give this shade a try before indulging in a more expensive version of this color!
