Elle 18 products are super affordable without compromising on the quality. Whenever I decide to haunt the market, I definitely make it a point to get an Elle 18 product I don’t own. I especially love the Color Pops lipsticks. They are super- pigmented, creamy and adorable looking, just for a hundred rupees and they have quite some shades. Today, I shall review for you Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick in the shade Luscious Lilac. Here is how it fared.
Name of the Product:
Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick in the shade Luscious Lilac.
Rs. 100 for 4.3 ml.
30 months from packaging date.
Cocoa Butter, Jojoba and Rose Water are among those that are mentioned.
Young and vibrant, Elle 18 is the choice of today’s young women, who want to define their own style statement.
My Experience with Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick – Luscious Lilac:
I had bought this product, well, because it costs a hundred rupees. I tend to get excited when I see cosmetic products priced Rs. 100 and below. Ergo, I own a lot of Elle 18 products. Coming to this particular lipstick; it has not been used by me even once. I used this lipstick the first time for this review. It looks a pale pinkish-violet with tiny gold glitters in the bullet and not very different in the swatches. I found the swatch to be similar to that of Lakme Satin Enrich Lipstick in the shade Bamboo Pink but with gold glitters.
The glitters in this shade are a bit too flagrant; not like the ones in the shade Prune Splash, where the glitters and the brown cream beautifully interplay to form a rich bronze that is very wearable. When I wore this shade, I realized that it washed me out. Even the shiny disco balls encrusted in the lipstick did nothing to salvage my skin tone. I tried wearing it with Lakme Sheer Satin Lip Gloss in shade number 23; it immediately brightened up my face. I think I will only be wearing it topped with this lip gloss.
I will not recommend this particular shade to anyone who is not extremely fair. The texture is creamy like the other Elle 18 lipsticks. It is also very pigmented. A swipe or two of this shade is enough for the colour to show. The staying power is like that of the other Elle 18 lipsticks, a maximum of two hours without eating or drinking. The smell of this particular shade is bitter-sweet, like bitter chocolate; its smell is bitter than Cinnamon Bun but not as bitter as Prune Splash. I don’t really see myself recommending this particular shade to anyone; well, maybe to fairer women who love glitters.
Pros of Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick – Luscious Lilac:
- Good pigmentation.
Cons of Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick – Luscious Lilac:
- This shade would not do justice to the wheatish and darker skin tones. Only the fairer-toned ladies could carry this particular shade with panache.
- Staying power isn’t that good.
2.5/5 (for this particular shade).
Will I Repurchase Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick – Luscious Lilac?
No, this particular shade washes me out. It would be best worn by fair ladies.
