I have been so busy these days that I am unable to find time for myself. I make sure I write once in a while at least 😀 Here’s a review for you guys of this matte lipstick from Elle 18. I got a shade out of my comfort zone this time. Find out if it worked out for me or not.

My Experience with Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Chocolate Day Lipstick:
Packaging: Â Elle 18Â lipstick tubes are really girly and cute. The plastic tubes may feel flimsy but they definitely are not boring. For the price, I think it is functional and decent enough. The only thing is that they are not color coded and I have a hard time checking for a particular shade since I own many.
Shade: Chocolate Day, as the name suggests, is a true chocolate brown color. The shade is dark and vampy which is not everybody’s cup of tea. If I layer it on, it looks almost black. I personally think it is too bold for me, so maybe I’ll reserve it for a Halloween party 😀
Texture and Pigmentation: I am a big-time matte fan, so I wouldn’t have missed picking this one up. I was expecting a lot in terms of texture, but it was a slight let-down. This is not exactly a matte, but a semi-matte with a satiny finish. They could have worked on the texture in a better way I feel. It glides smoothly on the lips without any tug or pull and doesn’t highlight dryness. The color payoff is amazing! You get the color, bang on in just one swipe.
Staying Power:  I have not exactly worn this anywhere for long enough to comment on the lasting power, but when I just had it on for testing, it stayed put for a good 3.5 hours without any meals and light snacks. I haven’t had it on for more than that but I am interpreting that it is pretty average. It transfers to cups and all which is annoying. And at the end of the day, I felt that my lips were a little dry, but on the whole, the product is good enough for the price tag.

- Not a true matte.

Next time, I will choose a different color in my comfort zone as this one did not work out as expected 😀 The product, overall is really good for the price and worth checking out.
