My Experience with Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lipstick Belgian Brown:
Elle 18 matte lipstick comes in a cute black packaging with a lovely girl’s face printed over the cap. But the packaging is common to all lipsticks by Elle 18, so it is quite difficult to identify a particular shade. The cute tube is easy to carry around. I like this.
They offer many dark shades in this range; I chose this Belgian Brown. It’s a pure dark brown shade with warm undertones. It looks extremely bold on me and adds a different look. I really enjoy this shade. It might not be an everyday shade but it will suit many Indian skin tones well. I know a lot of women like to sport such bold brown shades.
It is a nice shade for night parties as well. It looks pretty good on my medium skin tone. It doesn’t have any shimmer in it. This shade is super pigmented and only two swipes are needed for the true and bold color to show up. It can hide lip pigmentation well. I prefer to call it a creamy-matte lipstick. Its smooth and soft texture glides so easily on the lips and provides an even application.
This shade has a nice and soft velvety-creamy matte texture which never dries out my lips. It keeps the lips soft and moisturized for long. But the texture is not 100% matte, hence after a few hours, it settles down to a nice matte stain. It is good for dry lips but might feel super dry after a lunch. Otherwise it is a really hydrating lipstick which doesn’t highlight dry patches. It does transfer but it doesn’t mess around lip area.
I am really happy with the quality. As a super dark shade, it stays nicely for around 5 hours. After that, it starts to fade and then it leaves a dark stain on the lips. It can survive a lunch too. And, it never looks patchy at the end of the day. It can also be removed easily with a wipe.
This is the most affordable matte lipstick range in India. This super gorgeous brown shade looks very different on me. This bold shade might not be everyone’s cup of tea but if you still want to try out a nice matte and bold shade, give this one a try.
