Skin tone: Fair with neutral undertones
As you might be aware, Elle 18 has recently launched the ‘Color Pops Matte Lipstick’ range in India with 20 beautiful shades. I love the fact that Elle 18 lipsticks are so easy on pockets and have a stunning range of colors. Today I will be reviewing the shade Pink Show. Let’s get started.
• High color pay off
• Single color lipstick (without the moisturizing core)
• Matte texture
INR 100 for 4.3g
The Elle 18 matte lipstick comes in a cute black packaging with a lovely girl’s face printed over the cap. I am sure you will recognize this standard packaging by Elle 18, but it is quite difficult to identify and pick one range or shade. The cute tube is easy to carry around and shuts with a reassuring click. It is such a fun and girly packaging. But, the packaging’s twist mechanism isn’t very sturdy. But, as this is a super affordable lipstick, I can’t really complain.
My Experience with Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lipstick Pink Show:
Pink Show is a beautiful pink with a mauve touch. There is an underlying berry hue. The shade, though not unique, is very pretty and perfect for regular wear to offices and colleges. I do not wear bright colors on a regular basis, so such subtle yet elegant shades are favorites of mine. The color would suit most skin tones, but might not show up with full intensity on very dark skin tone.
The shade is decently pigmented and in two to three swipes the perfect color to shows up. Elle 18 markets it as a “matte lipstick” but it is more of a creamy-matte lipstick. The texture is smooth and glides so easily on the lips. It provides an even application. The finish is not exactly matte; it is a velvety finish with a light sheen. Like most other Elle 18 lippies, it is of a non-drying finish which keeps the lips soft and moisturized for some hours. Layering doesn’t cause any clumping and doesn’t feel heavy on lips.
It settles down to a semi-matte stain after 2-3 hours. People with very dry or chapped lips might need a lip balm underneath. This lipstick doesn’t highlight dry patches. It doesn’t stay on the lips for as long as other matte lipsticks like the Lakme 9 to 5 range, but the staying power is still decent. This lipstick stays for around 4-5 hours. After 4 hours, it starts to fade and leaves a stain. A reapplication is needed after 3-4 hours.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lipstick Pink Show?
If you are looking for a soft pink for regular wear, this is perfect. I might not repurchase as I have many lipsticks which I am trying to finish. But I will definitely be reaching out for this shade very often.
