ELLE 18 recently launched the ‘Color Pops Matte Lipsticks’ range in India with 20 beautiful shades. From this range, I have picked up 8 shades. Actually, I was really confused about the shades, so picked up the shades randomly. Today’s review is going to be on the shade ‘Prom Pink’ and it is the most beautiful shade in this entire range. My Experience with Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lipstick Prom Pink:

Elle 18 matte lipstick comes in a cute black packaging with a lovely girl’s face printed over the cap. But the packaging is common to all lipsticks by Elle 18, so it is quite difficult to identify a particular shade. The cute tube is easy to carry around. But, the packaging’s twist mechanism isn’t very sturdy. Otherwise, I really like this super affordable and girly packaging.

This new matte lipstick range has 20 shades but I could find only 13 shades in my local market and I chose only 8 out of them. This range has a huge variety of shades like red, orange, pink, mauve, and brown. ‘Prom Pink’ is from the pink range. It is a very gorgeous coral shade with a hint of pink. The shade is actually a mixture of coral, pink and orange with a warm undertones. Sometime it looks too orangey and sometime more pink, depending on the light.

It suits fair to medium skin tones very well. It has a neonish touch so it might look too bold on darker skin tones. It is a perfect summery and very poppy shade. It looks so beautiful and it instantly brightens up my face. Also, the shade is very well pigmented. It only needs two swipes for the perfect color to show. It can hide pigmented lips.

They call it a “matte lipstick” but I prefer to call it a creamy-matte lipstick. The matte texture is better than ‘First Love‘. Its smooth and soft texture glides so easily on the lips and it provides an even application. This shade has a nice, soft, velvety-matte texture. It has a non-drying finish which keeps the lips soft and moisturized for long. But, after a few hours, it settles down to a nice matte stain. It never makes my lips dry but, after a meal or 5 hours, very chapped lips might feel dehydrated. Otherwise, it is a really a hydrating lipstick which doesn’t highlight dry patches.

It doesn’t contain any shimmer which is really nice. It does transfer just after the application but not too much like other creamy lipsticks. It doesn’t settle into the fine lines. I am really happy with the quality. It doesn’t mess around the lip area and it never creases either. This shade lasts really long on my lips. It stays for around 5 hours nicely. After 4 hours, it starts to fade and then it leaves a nice pink stain on the lips which lasts for long. It can survive lunch a little but then it starts to fade. I have noticed that it stays longer than ‘First love’. Removing this lipstick from the lips is also quite easy.

I have no complaints with this lipstick. It is really worth the price as it gives a very vibrant, summery look to the lips. Also, the quality is quite nice. It is the most affordable matte lipstick available in the Indian market and it does its job perfectly.
