Today I will be reviewing a beautiful red from the Color Pops Matte Range of Elle 18; it’s called Rockstar Red. Now let’s jump to the review without wasting any more time.

Packaging:
Elle 18 matte lipstick comes in a cute black packaging with a lovely girl’s face printed over the cap. But the packaging is common to all lipsticks by Elle 18, so it is quite difficult to identify and pick one range or shade. The cute tube is easy to carry around and is very travel-friendly. It is such a fun and girly packaging. But, the packaging’s twist mechanism isn’t very sturdy. But, at this price, I am not complaining.

My Experience with Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lipstick Rockstar Red:

This range has so many color options, and given my fascination for all kinds of red, there was no way I could let this one go. Rockstar Red looks tomato red in the bullet, but on lips it turns out to be a beautiful soft red. There is a pink undertone, which adds to the femininity of this color, and it looks elegant without being very bold.

It is the kind of red I can easily wear on a brunch as well as for a dinner date. The color is decently pigmented, and you need two swipes for the prominent color to show up. This color would look best on fair to medium skin tones, but darker skins can make it work by layering the color. It can cover pigmented lips, but you do need to build up the color.

Elle 18 markets this lipstick as a “matte lipstick” but the finish is that of a creamy-matte lipstick. Its texture is smooth and, due to this soft texture, it glides so easily on the lips. It provides an even application and has a nice creamy-matte texture. Plus, this lipstick doesn’t cause dehydration or dry out lips. There is no feathering or bleeding, though using a lip liner will be better.

Plus, this color doesn’t settle into fine lines. You get a nice matte stain after 3 hours or so. Also the lipstick feels very comfortable on lips. The staying power is around 4 hours, but the color doesn’t survive a full meal. Light snacks and sipping water is okay, it won’t remove the color.
